What Facial Masks Can Do For You
A facial mask is generally defined as a balm that is applied to the face, much like smearing on cream. It is usually thick and resembles clay. Many facial masks use clay or gel as a base, helping them stay in place when applied. Gel is used mostly for sensitive skin, as heavy clays can irritate some people's skin.
Most facial masks have both deep cleaning and moisturizing agents in them. They allow the pores in the face to be cleansed deeply, thus getting rid of oily build-up and trapped dirt. This helps reduce or even prevent acne.
Most masks also help slough off dead skin. This dead top skin is inert and lusterless. When removed, the skin looks younger, and healthier. This also means tighter skin and a more brilliant complexion.
Using a facial mask regularly can also reduce the look of fine lines and small wrinkles. Read on to find recipes for facial masks for different skin problems.

How To Do A Facial At Home
Easy Step-by-step Instructions
- 1Wash your face to remove dirt and grime. Use a mild cleanser to wash your face. Choose a cleanser for oily skin or dry skin, depending on your skin.
- 2Exfoliate dead skin. Using a circular motion with the tips of your fingers, rub a gentle exfoliating scrub into your face.
- 3Rinse your face well and pat dry. Do not rub your face when drying, pat it instead.
- 4Steam your face. Fill a bowl or your sink with warm water. Using a soft cloth (a micro-cloth is best), dip and press the cloth to your face. Repeat several times.
- 5Use a face mask. Select a face mask based on your skin type. Oily skin try a clay-based one and for dry skin use a hydrating gel or cream mask. Spread a thin layer over your face and neck. Avoid smiling while your mask is drying to avoid cracking. Use as directed on the product or wear for 10-20 minutes.
- 6Rinse your face with lukewarm water and pat dry. Finally, rinse your face with warm water and pat dry (do not rub). If you've used a peel-off mask, peel it from the forehead and move downwards to the neck.

More Natural, Make At Home Face Products
Made Right From Your Kitchen
What ever we touch affects our skin. The skin absorbs cream, deodorant, after shave and anything else it comes in contact with. A natural skin care recipe can produce a product free from dangerous chemicals and costly price. Following a natural skin care recipe that produces for example olive oil skin care product will ease your expenses and provide the healthiest result possible.
Effective skin treatments that you can make at home are not hard to create. Follow a natural skin care recipe and feel the difference:
Facial masque blend honey and egg yolk. Apply on a thin coat over your face, wait fifteen to twenty minutes, and rinse (some find honey tickling too much, if so leave it out. This masque tightens your pores without the use of honey).
Facial masque - I use this one all of the time -- whip or blend an egg white. Apply on a thin coat over your face, wait fifteen to twenty minutes, and rinse. The egg white tightens your skin and helps clean out the pores of the face.
To exfoliate, use baking soda. While in the shower or bath, gently scrub with a small quantity. You can rub a bit harder in areas with blackheads, like the nose or the notorious T-Zone.
Tomatoes are excellent skin toner. Slice them thin and lay across oily areas of your face, but If you have sensitive skin, you should skip this treatment.
By using natural skin care recipes, you will enjoy a healthier skin. Shiny bottles and boxes promises a lot, yet do not necessarily deliver. Educate yourself in natural skin care and learn about organic ingredients. And, when you look at commercial skin care products, check the ingredients closely and choose wisely.
