What's the RocketMoms Facebook Fan Page Directory?

This Facebook fan page directory is a collection of fan pages created during the sixth session of RocketMoms.

If you're not familiar with what RocketMoms is, here's what the creator and leader, Bonnie (bdkz), has to say:

"Rocket Moms is a gathering of the smartest women on the web, working together to make Squidoo lenses (and a whole lot more)."

This is an example of the "whole lot more."

The RocketMoms have been busy learning about, and creating, awesome niche communities on Facebook so that like-minded people can get together and interact around a topic. How to Set up a Facebook Fan Page

Ten Easy Steps

  1. Go to Create A Facebook Fan Page.

  2. Pick a category. This can be confusing. Choose "local" if you have a business. Then choose your type of business. Choose "Brand, Product or Organization" if you are focusing on a particular product or if you represent an organization. Then choose your type. Choose "Artist, Band or Public Figure" if you're focusing on yourself. Then choose the type of figure you are (e.g. writer).

  3. Name your page. Name it in a way that's representative of you or your topic but remember to incorporate good keywords.

  4. Check the box if you want to work on your page before you publish it. Leave the box unchecked if you want to make it live right away.

  5. Enter the security words.

  6. Click to create your page.

  7. Upload a photo.

  8. Add content (e.g. write a blurb that describes the page, add links, start discussion topics, post quotes or questions or information, upload videos). Make it useful, relevant to your audience and interactive.

  9. Add applications (optional). Click to edit your page (under your photo). Then scroll down to applications. Browse for more and add what works for your page. Networked blogs is a good one if you write a blog that's related. The app will automatically add your blog posts to your fan page.

  10. Suggest your page to your friends (the link is under your photo). Also advertise your page on Squidoo & Twitter.
