Facebook Notes Poetry & Poems

Before I found Squidoo, RedGage, and other pay for content sites, I posted my poetry on Facebook in the notes section. I'm now posting it here on Squidoo instead, because Squidoo pays for content via an adsense revenue sharing program. Facebook does not pay for content, so I use it to post links and updates vs upload new content. Here you can read my poetry, some poetry from other facebook users that I love, links to personal poetry lenses made by Squids, and you can also find the link to join Squidoo. It's 100% free to join Squidoo, and you can make money by building lenses from your own facebook notes content, and pretty much any other content that is unique, useful, and personal to you. Many thanks for visiting my "facebook poets" page, I hope you enjoy my notebook poetry.

Like Water

Victoria Falls - Zimbabwe

Like water
Heavy, and boastful,
of the ability to seep
thru my pores

You are like blood
Oxygenating and life-ful
Your air becomes mine,
as it seeks and then binds.

Like water
Pounding, and force-ful
Sky-downing in buckets
and pours

You are like mud
Caking, and crusted
First shaped, and then dried
in the kiln of my mind.

Like water
Weight-ful and trusted
I drown first, delighted
then float, in your shores.

Releasing the Red Tailed Hawk

Red-Tailed Hawks

You were meant to fly
Not lay injured in a parking lot
You took a fall from grace
And landed, in another space

Warm hands picked you up
And brought you some comfort
It wasn't so bad to fall here
Only the landing hurt you, dear

You recovered over time
As we all seem to do
When we're flat on our backs
It's all we can do...

But comfort got boring for you
Satiation became painful
You missed being in flight
So I released you, to the light

Feel Free

Buy This Allposters.com

I am not a body, I am free
But still I need a vehicle
to carry me

I am not a body, I am free
But still I buy it clothing
to cover me

I am not a body, I am free
But still I feed it food
to strengthen me

I am not a body, I am free
But still I need the ego
to capture me

I am not a body, I am free
Be still while dying comes
to release me

Sitting With Desire

Fire Breathing Dragon

I sit with desire
a fiery dragon she is
a veritable canon of bliss

She's death, assured
with a kiss

A potion of longing
a twist of regret
this dark lovely demon
I crave to beget

Yet once she is mine
She's not mine to forget
For it is she I must have
...not miss

Sacred Desert Hole

by Darcie French

Arizona, Grand Canyon, Kayaks and Rafts on the Colorado River Pass Through the Inner Canyon, USA

The place where demons exit
Is an ugly, bloody troll
To you, the space an entrance
A sacred, plundered hole.

The slice where the knife has cut
Is a stuttering, snakey smile
To you, the smile an oozing breast
A sacred, sucking hole.

The vice that belittles the soul
By letting drops of dying plasma go
To you is an offering, an oasis
A sacred, desert hole.

The Willows

Darcie French

Branches of a Weeping Willow Tree against a Blue Sky

Buy This Allposters.com

Long married by Love
Since the days of Christ's teachings
The two Willows stand together

Branches bent with rains
Of injustice, and bowed in sorrow
They do not break

In alignment with Truth
Since He came and spoke of it
The Willows stand firm

Gnarled by winds, and
Bespeaking a posture of acceptance
They do not break

With reverence to Light
They are joined by their lit journey
And The Willows stand rooted in Joy

Dancing with Love Itself
Like a living prayer, an act of The Will
The Willows may bend
But they do not break

Two Aries & A Leo

Darcie French

Aries, the Ram

I can see
a couple of old lady
bodies all leathered
and wrinkled by the sun,
crumbling gracefully
into the red desert dust.
Two aries in alignment,
with a saved leo~
who will use an old broom,
to sweep their last bits of form
into the sage spotted hills.

Home

Able to butterfly
For only half the length of the pool
I coast home

Radio City Shining with Many Bright Lights During the Night

Bright lights, coldness,
where... is this?
Wet protoplasm, heavy,
what... is this?
Entrapment, illusion,
who... did this?
Freedom, relief,
how...?
Closed window, opens,
Fly out!
Not in.

Little Girl

You always woke up crying
I thought you were hungry.

Little Mother
I always woke up crying
But I wasn't always hungry; you were.

I grew afraid you were coming to eat me.

Fine Miracles

The Lady and the Unicorn:

There is a tapestry
of tragedy, woven
into the shall of my life

Holy & holey,
it covers & simultaneously
exposes bare bones

New & true,
It is warm & pretty
Until dusk arrives

Old now & cold,
it falls to the floor,
& rests, tomorrow, reborn

With fine miracles,
The tapestry of tragedy of my life
is laced & worn

A Poem For Teagan

Coral Reef

You were like a stunning coral reef
My child
And I,
I was your vast ocean

You were like bright red clay
My child
And I,
I was your desert kiln

You were like rocks and roots
My child
And I,
I was your forest

You were like a perfect portrait
My child
And I,
... I was your canvas

Butterfly and Ladybug

Buy This Allposters.com

You were like a sweet new puppy
My child
And I,
I was no trainer of dogs

You were like a pretty butterfly
My child
And I,
I had no net to catch you

You were like a 1000 piece puzzle
My child
And I,
I had slippery fingers, that kept dropping parts of you

You were like an angel, anyway,
My child
And I,
I was but a humbled shepherd, who'd lost all the sheep

You were like a gorgeous poem,
My child
And I,
...I was the poet

I am little
I am small
When I shuffle stuff
To please them all

In time gone by
I made the choice
To shuffle stuff
To not rejoice

I am little
I am small
I shuffle stuff
And ignore the call

To be of the world
(And not the stuff)
I shuffle stuff
To please them all

I am little
I am small
I've lost my Self
And that's not all..

Chasing Beautiful Dragons

Dragon's Dream

Glinty, flinty scales
Shining in the sun
Come closer, darling
...there's nowhere to run

Jagged, ragged nails
Flashing in the light
Come closer, darling
...they won't start a fight

Slashing, lashing tail
Cutting vacant air
Come closer, darling
...don't stand there and stare

I said, come closer, darling...

Firey, mirey breath
Whispering in your ear
Come closer, darling
...it's only your fear

1. In a perfect world, we could realize that there is a point of view that is greater than our own and perhaps we would be more humble
2. In a perfect world, excess and lack would find compromise
3. In a perfect world, truth would have a spotlight on it, one that burns too bright for relativism to work its dark magic
4. In a perfect world, there would be no lessons to learn and the place would be a ghost town, perhaps we are working ourselves out of a perfect job
5. In a perfect world, we would understand that one need not suffer, to know God
6. In a perfect world, Developing A Sense Of Humour would be a mandated component of kindergarten.. right through to post-graduate school
7. In a perfect world, the coffee pot would manifest fresh coffee via telepathy
8. In a perfect world, money will help, not harm
9. In a perfect world, we will pay it forward, rarely back
10. In a perfect world, happiness will be unconditionally accepted as a basic human right

I love poetry, though I really haven't put any of my own online yet. The problem is, I don't know where it fits on any of my sites, lenses or my Facebook profile..
  • Atreyusmommy Apr 29, 2012 @ 12:09 pm | delete
I used to write poetry and post it at associatedcontent.com. I haven't written poetry in a while but after reading this lens I think that I might just start again. You write beautiful poetry! Thank you for sharing!

I write poetry but I don't put it on Facebook unless I put one of my lenses there. I've put them in 5 little books I published on Blurb.com. They're in one of my poetry lenses. I love your poetry too, it's strong and imaginative. Keep writing, I enjoyed the read.
