A salute to veterans on July 4th

Anyone who knows me is well aware I'm a staunch supporter of our troops. I thought July 4th would be a good day to recognize them since they make this day possible for us. Since I recently joined Facebook it gave me the opportunity to connect with those in my friendslist who have served our country. This page is to recognize and thank them. Thanks to all for your contribution to our country and keeping it the greatest nation on earth!

I apologize if any of the info. stated is incorrect. I tried to verify as much as I could. Feel free to contact me on Facebook if you see an error.

Gunnery Sergeant Dan Slagle Marine Corps veteran

Dan recently retired from the Marine Corps after serving 20 years. Dan enjoys staying active and participating in sports. If he's not in the gym he's probably playing rugby. Thanks Dan for all of your hard work and sacrifice while serving our country.

Lieutenant Colonel Kevin M. Shea (USMC)

A Fallen Hero

Lieutenant Colonel Kevin M. Shea was a true hero and inspiration to others. Tragically, he was killed during a rocket attack on Camp Falluja, Iraq while serving his country on September 14, 2004. Shea led an amazing life for 38 years. In addition to his decorated military career he was an avid Football and Rugby player. His academics mirrored his military success. He completed a Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) at the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California in September 2000. He continued on as an Electrical Engineering Instructor at the United States Naval Academy where he was also an Assistant Coach for Navy Rugby.

To read more about his amazing life go to In Memory of Lieutenant Colonel Kevin M. Shea (USMC) on Facebook.
