* People targeting allows Facebook Advertisers to selectively target certain demographics.
* Less competition
* Most people are not looking for something to buy.
* You can target your audience but your audience has trouble targeting you. Better for products that need "demand creation."
* Ad waste, fraud, and scams are abundant. Click fraud said to be around 15-20% of click costs. Since you pay for every click on your ad, competitors, bots, and other invalid clicks can boost up your costs.
* 50% of Adwords expenses are wasted, going to uninterested eyes.
* Ineffective targeting
* There are 39,000,000,000 page views a month
* Only >1% of online marketers are promoting on Facebook Currently
* 1/20th the cost of Google
* 1/20th the advertisers of Google
* Highest level targeting
* Just added 1 billion profiles to the public search engines for massive exposure for your ads
* 20 times the cost of Facebook
* 20 times the advertisers competing for space on Facebook
* Useful for products that need demand fulfillment,
Not demand creation.
This means if you are selling a product that does not have high demand already, and need to create that demand, google searches can be next to impossible. That is because there are not people already looking for your product in large amounts.

* Search PPC Marketing
Facebook Ads vs. Google Adwords: The Conclusion
Which is better?
In my opinion, the option is never clear. When I use Google (or most websites with AdSense, for that matter), I'm there to consume something - if not a product or service, media at a minimum. When I'm on Facebook, I just want to hear about my friends. This is the main argument against Facebook. However, the integration of Facebook with numerous web services means that it is currently and increasingly a more trusted source of advertisement. Facebook has openly said, that as Web sites and Facebook become more and more intertwined, this opens the door for Facebook to use users' behavioral, demographic, and geographic data to serve highly relevant ads to users off Facebook.The pure fact of it is this: Facebook ads work best for products where the marketing objective is "demand creation" instead of "demand fulfillment." In the case of the latter, search engines will always trump content ads. But if you are marketing a new mousetrap or trying to build brand, you need content! You need to create demand, making new customers, rather than fulfilling the needs of old ones with an already well known brand/product.
To me, the winner is Facebook. But only if you have the right tools and knowledge to work the system. A system that is so relatively untapped can potentially make your business alot of money.
