James Hugh Calum Laurie, OBE is a British actor, voice artist, comedian, writer, musician, recording artist, and director who was born on the 11th June 1959 in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.He is better known as Hugh Laurie and s recently most famous for his role as Dr. Gregory House on the television series House M.D however before this popular series he was well known as one half of the Fry and Laurie double act, along with his friend and comedy partner Stephen Fry, whom he joined in the cast of Blackadder and Jeeves and Wooster from 1987 until 1999. - His father is a real doctor.

- His American accent was so convincing at his audition, the producers didn't know he was British.

- He is a writer, his credits include writing for Saturday Night Live, the Alfresco series, and A Bit of Fry and Laurie.

    You know, this guy ... Hugh Laurie ... is a favorite "performer" of mine ... I've caught him in more works than House and wonder what he might be like in person. Is there any promo, "win a date with Hugh Laurie?"
