Who are the FaeryCats?
FaeryCats are the guardians of the magical crystals of Faerie. They are wise and mysterious little souls, but naturally, being of Faerie, they are not without mischief! Just like their faerie companions, they relish the chance to play a few (harmless!) tricks and have plenty of fun, even at the expense of some unfortunate human!
The FaeryCats have huge, wise eyes and captivating expressions. They know many, many secrets, both of the human and faerie worlds, but keep these to themselves, preferring to confuse those who encounter them with riddles! They often have magical bubbles with them, filled with faerie magic, and more often than not an ancient faerie crystal, which they can make appear and disappear at will.
FaeryCats have gossamer wings, sometimes with magical faerie symbols on them if they are particularly wise, or FaeryCat elders. The elders have been protectors of faerie magic for many centuries, and continue to pass their wisdom down through the generations of earnest young FaeryKitties!
Kitties and Faeries... An Inspiration!

When I first began sculpting with polymer clay, I wanted to create some unusual and enchanted characters. After catching glimpses of these curious little winged folk in the woods, I just HAD to sculpt them! ;o)
I simply adore making these winged cats! I began by sculpting OOAK figurines, but have also branched out into ACEOs, mini FaeryCats, and FaeryCat Charms, which includes range of jewellery, keyrings, magnets, charms and so on. I am also working on a companion range called AngelCats! I am also making my FaeryCat designs available at Zazzle and CafePress.
These cute little critters have captured my imagination to the point where I am now working on some stories for them!
STOP PRESS! Halloween FaeryCats!

Collect FaeryCats from Realm of MerFaery
I sell my original one-of-a-kind FaeryCat sculptures through my Realm of MerFaery eBay store. Because I have only just launched in the UK and my feedback is less than 10, I'm not able to have US listing visibility, so the store won't show up here just yet. In the meantime you can keep an eye on my shop by following the link here.

So... What are Cats Doing in Faerie?
Cats have long been associated with magic and mystery! From the ancient cats of Egypt to the jet-black witch's familiar, cats are renowned for having one paw in this world and one paw in the other!
Consequently, they make excellent advocates for the beings of Faerie. The FaeryCats are creatures of the Fey, but "normal" cats residing in our world can be equally as magical, if not in quite the same ways as the FaeryCats themselves!
Cats definitely know something... have you ever looked into their eyes and wondered?
More on Magical Cats
Your Magickal Cat: Feline Magick, Lore, and Worship
The author of "The Wicca Spellbook" examines in detail the mystical aspects of the domestic feline--from its long-lasting associations with witchcraft and the supernatural to its role as a shamanic totem. Includes superstitions, magic spells involving cats, folklore and even horoscopes for your cat, with plenty of tales of cats from years ago.
Cat Magic: Mews, Myths, and Mystery
"In German they are called ket, in French, chat, in Arabic, quttah--but with little concern for what name we've assigned them, cats have sauntered into almost every corner of human society and history. In ancient Egypt a cat-faced goddess was worshiped and immortalized in the art of Egyptian tombs. In Scandinavian lore, Freyja, a goddess of the night, rode in a cart drawn by cats. Cats appear in our folktales and in our literature, even in our everyday speech.
In Cat Magic, Patricia Telesco takes us on a fascinating tour of the different roles cats have played in human experience, with over 50 illustrations documenting the appearance and importance of cats in our mythology, in the spiritual teachings and religious practices of our ancestors, and in totems, spells, and other rituals of magic. Cat Magic tells of cat ginii and of charms of protection. It explains astrology for determining your cat's personality, creating magical blessings, and using crystal and color therapy for the feline in the house. Mysterious and independent, cunning and fierce, gentle and affectionate, cats continue to win our hearts and imaginations, providing a link to our past and present, and to ourselves."

Egyptian Animals: Guardians And Gateways of the Gods
A superb book from the brilliant esoteric publishers Capall Bann. "A source book of lore exploring the world of the Egyptian tradition from the perspective of the sacred animals, with an emphasis on the relevance of Egyptian mysteries in the daily lives of Twenty-First Century practitioners. A wealth of lore is offered, including Temple traditions, historical references and applications of the powers of each animal - offering a direct means to access the power of each animal in ritual and daily life. A unique feature of this book is that it introduces readers to the ancient Temple technique of seeking oracles from sacred animals. The book is written with both the experienced practitioner and newcomer in mind, no prerequisite knowledge is required to utilise this volume as it provides detailed lore. The gods and goddesses walk amongst us, clad in skin, feathers, fur and claw, hoofed and horned, wild or domestic of form - ever a source of unending wonder, inspiration and direct communion with the Ancient Ones. This book will be of interest not only to those drawn to the Egyptian mysteries, but also followers of other Pagan and esoteric paths linking to animal forms."

The Magical Lore of Cats
Another superb book from Capall Bann! "The cat has a dual nature, that of the gentle, loving bundle, purring on your lap and as a predator, a character so strong that people either love cats dearly or claim to dislike them thoroughly. In Ancient Egypt the cat became an archetype for instruction and understanding. Included in the book are sections on: cats and astrology, the Celtic cat, links between cats and serpents, the relationships between cats, the moon and sun and also cats in fable, folklore and superstition with legends and stories gathered from all over the world. A wonderful book for cat lovers and those who appreciate the mysterious side of the cat."
Meet the FaeryCats!
Getting to Know the FaeryCat Folk

There are many, many FaeryCats in the realms of Faerie, but some have made more of a name for themselves than others! I have begun to catalogue those who most commonly cross over into the realms of mankind... here are some of them!
Quiver
Description: Big Brown Cat!

Quiver is a FaeryCat elder, and an inherently curious one at that! He is quite old but loves to play amongst the flowers. Despite being a wise elder, he is also quite mischievous, and always has a trick or two up his paw! He is the guardian of faerie rose quartz and usually carries an extremely potent bubble of faerie magic.

Azrael
Description: Perky White Persian!

Azrael is a warrior FaeryCat, meaning he is in the front line when it comes to protecting faerie crystals and treasures. He thinks he is a little toughie, but deep down he is quite the sweetheart.
He usually looks either cross or mischievous, but don't let that fool you. Azrael has a heart of gold and is very brave, willing to stand up for all the other FaeryCats and fight their corner. As a warrior cat, he works closely with the AngelCats to ensure that the realms of Faerie remain protected from those who would wish them ill.

Gobbolino
Description: Little Black Kitty!

Gobbolino is a young FaeryCat who loves to go on adventures, but invariably gets himself into trouble! He looks up to the warrior FaeryCats, especially Azrael, as he wants to be just like them when he grows up.
Despite being a little ragamuffin, Gobbolino has strong inherent magical powers, and by squeezing his eyes shut, and quivering until he nearly goes pop, he can conjure up all kinds of weird and wonderful things out of thin air. In fact, he has made so much magic that it has gotten into his fur, staining some of it purple!
