Attention Fairies Everywhere!!

Fairy Day is June 24th. Fairy Day is a day of celebrating EVERYTHING Fairy! This is an annual holiday where everyone that loves all things fairies can celebrate the mythical and magickal world of these little beings. It is a time to celebrate Nature and all of her beauty by fluttering around just enjoying being the fairy you are!!

Fairy Day is a day that if you choose you can dress up as the fantasy Fairy you have always wanted to be. It is a day that many groups gather together creating and celebrating Fairy Festivals. Where it is okay to eat sweet cookies and cakes and sharing beautiful flowers with each, being happy and joyous; mystical and mysterious and let's not forget sprinkling everything with Fairy Dust!

This lens is about different ways you can celebrate this wonderful day too!!

Thank you Kerry for letting me share this poem for Fairy's Day!!!

"Fairies"

Mystical
Misunderstood
Mysterious
Wonderful helpers
Playful Imps.

Fairies in the woods
dancing round the ring
hopping, flying, swinging as they go.
I wonder what spell this will bring.

Fairy wisdom
ancients say
lasts for ever and a day.
Take heed
lest ye be fooled
gullible most are.
Wisdom of the wise for thee
for those who have the eyes to see.

Come, dance, sing
eat and rest.
Come join the Fairy ring this day.
For once a friend, you'll always be
Fairies, wise among the trees

Fairy Day Activities: #1

Pack a picnic and go to your favorite place in nature! One of my favorite things to do is go on a picnic in a park by a creek, and while I am eating lunch-I love listening to the water in the creek and watching water ripples!

Faery Bubbles!!

type=textSo what are some things you can do to celebrate Fairy Day? Let's remember that Fairy's Day is for EVERYONE including children and adults!! So Adults let out your inner child and dance around!!

I wrote a lens called: Faery Bubbles & Faery Kisses here is the intro for it:

Blowing Bubbles, how many memories does that bring back for everyone? You know **leans in and whispers** blowing bubbles is not only fun for children, but adults love them too! Will they admit it? Most likely not, but do you know blowing bubbles is a way for you to honor your child within.

This Lens, is dedicated to blowing bubbles, having fun, working together with your children, and oh, did I mention having fun?

I am a firm believer in doing as many things as possible homemade. So this is a way to make wonderful Faery Bubbles, they are as beautiful as the little faeries their self. When the bubble pops...you are left with a small sparkling spot. This is known as a faery kiss! (so you may or may not want to use them inside the house!)

Wouldn't this make a great product to do with the children while getting ready for Fairy's Day. The recipe to make the bubbles and wands are on the lens!

Fairy Day Activities: #2

Plant a beautiful flower in your garden that you know fairies will love! With the exception of this year I always try to plant flowers for the fairies. They love Foxglove, violets and daisies!!

Join a Group!!

type=textThis is from my lens A True Fairytale here is the intro for the lens:

Everyone knows how I feel about honoring the Child Within. I found a group of women that I feel for the first time really understands what I am saying about the whole concept of the Child Within

This lens is indeed a True Fairy Tale that explains how a group of women came together to create something that spread love, joy and laughter throughout many different areas on the web. How this group broke apart and how another one was created to continue the journey.

I do hope that you will follow some of the links that I provide here and join us in a celebration of friendship, fun activities and a sure way of honoring your Child Within.

Lisa started an online group for people who love fairies. We would love to have you join us!!

As the Fairy Queen, Fairy Princess and Fairy Maiden began making plans; they began the journey to the new land and immediately started to build the new Castle. Oh, they were having so much fun, giggling and often throwing fairy dust on each other, and of course the Fairy Queen would make it rain these wonderful chocolate candies. They laughed and they worked very hard to build this castle. The day came and right before their eyes, it appeared, the new castle. The Fairy Queen, Fairy Princess and Fairy Maiden stood before the new castle holding each other's hands. The Fairy Queen spoke with a very soft voice and said, "Our new home and we shall call it: Seeds of Time-A Fairy's Journey

Fairy Day Activities #3

This is one of my favorite things to do: At night place a small bowl of distilled water on your counter and a small plate with some fairy cakes on it. This is something that the fairies love because they bathe in the water and eat the snacks. In the morning, empty the water and cake outside in nature. Also be sure to light a small candle to give them a little extra light.

Fairies LOVES Sweet Things!!

type=textWhat better way to celebrate Fairy's Day but to make Cupcakes!. This is a WONDERFUL group called the Cupcake Clud, where you can find A LOT of recipes for the most fantastic cupcakes, but if you can also join and WRITE a Squidoo Lens for your favorite cupcakes to share with others!!

I wrote two so far: Fairy Cupcakes and also Mushroom Cupcakes Here is the intro for Fairy Cupcakes:

It is no secret, Fairies loves sweet things, Fairies loves flowers and Fairies loves shiny things-so what better combination than to make Fairy Cupcakes!

First, what do you mean we can eat these flowers? Making crystallized sugar coated flowers is not as hard as it is time consuming. But in the end, you have a fantastic edible natural beauty!

So let's start with a few edible flowers. These are the ones I have used personally: Borage Flowers, Nasturtiums, Pansy and Roses. For Fairy Cupcakes, I would strongly suggest using the Borage Flowers, Pansy's or Roses.

Since this process is the most time-consuming let's start with a couple of different ways of crystallizing.

Fairy Day Activities #4

This is a fun one too!! Dress up as a fairy and go outside (in private or with your other fairy friends) and dance! Dance, play, laugh and have fun!! Take a break from everything else in your life and just for a few minutes pretend you are a real fairy and sprinkle fairy dust everywhere around you. LOOK at the sparkles; see how they shine when the sun reflects off of them. While you are having fun, look for Fairy Rings in your garden and around the oak trees.
