Fairy Artwork by: WhiteOak

I love fairies. I believe in them and I honestly love creating fairy pictures. The fairy art I do is not your typical little fairies, but are more human size ( I will go into more a little later). Now my fairy art has taken many turns in the short time I have been creating them. In the beginning of my graphic art experience, I knew I wanted to create some kind of fairy pictures and did it the only way I knew how at the time. So I sketched out fairy pictures, formulated the images in my mind and created my first pictures by manipulating different shapes and piecing them together. The Mermaid in this introduction module is among the first attempts of me trying to do fairy pictures.

My experience at doing art on the computer was very fresh, and there were many times when I wanted to give up and go back to the old school way of doing art. When I sketched, painted or drew I felt I had better control of what is being created. BUT the stubborn part of me said nope, I am not going to give up I am going to figure this out! So I created a couple more pictures AND even sold one!! I was shocked at that but very honored also.

So let me take you on a short tour of my Fairy art.

A pieced together Fairy

type=text

Well, here is one picture I did. Now that I look close I can see all of the imperfections in the picture and I can see where the alignment of certain areas was not completely straight. I did have a lot of fun doing these pictures though because I love seeing how close I can bring my sketches to life.

After seeing I really wanted to create Fairies my husband introduced me to another 3-D computer program. This time though, he did not have a lot of experience working this program either, so we both just sort of played around with it until we figured things out.

Many days my art will reflect the mood I am in. When I created "Amazed" I was in a mellow, peaceful mood and wanted to have a fairy picture that reflected on all the beauty in the little things in life.

Don't believe in Obama's fairy tales

    I love your fairies. I've never seen a fairy in full everyday sight, but I saw one in a wood once, from the corner of my eye, as it ran past my feet, kicking up leaves as it hurried by; the colours were a kind of transparent camouflage, and seemed earthy and mellow. I have seen a petunia glowing with radiance: the aura around the petals was luminous and electric blue and mauve...just like the colour of your fairies.

    beth, you have so much fairy energy it just radiates from you. I use to attend drumming circle with bunch of ladies, and there was this certain lady that had so much fairy energy everytime I seen her I would tell her and each time we just giggled like two little girls. She was a sweetheart!!

    I am sure your "imperfections" just jump out at you, but I found them all to be beautiful. The Navajos deliberately add an imperfection to each of their pieces of art. I am envious of your ability and frequently say to my husband, I wish one of us could make our own art.

    The video was beautiful. A very inspiring lens.

    You know, I have heard that about Navajo Art before. I am not sure if I heard it at a pow-wow I sat up in or if someone else had told me; but I know I heard it before. I honestly believe we are all artist in our way grannysage, I would love to see what you could create, I KNOW it would be beautiful!!
