How To Create A Fairy Garden
Fairies are magical little creatures that live in a realm just off our own. Every now and then they stop by to visit, and are occasionally spotted dancing in the moonlight, or quietly singing in the morning mists.
It seems that it is the beauty of nature that attracts them here and playful gardens or mysterious woodlands are the places that they are most likely to be found.
If you have a desire to entice fairies to your little corner of the world, you have only to create a magical little space within your yard, somewhere where a fairy can feel comfortable to visit and to play.
If you can manage do develop a perfect balance between nature and human creation you just may be able to develop a fairy garden of your own.
View Life Through A Fairy's Eyes
You must have innocence in your eyes, kindness in your heart, and an absolutely undying ability to believe in magic if you are to successfully create that most mystical of all garden areas. A garden area so unearthly that it is worthy of a visitation or occupation by fairies. This paradise can only be developed through the very qualities that the fairy folk themselves possess, minus the use of magic of course, for that is a trait reserved only for fairies and others of their like. CloudWorks - Florals "Morning Glory"
You must first shake off the shackles of life and living and get back to the emotions of your childhood. Tonight sleep deeply and in the morning when you awake, awake with a clear mind and a clearer heart, look at the world once again through the eyes of a child. This is when you will be most prepared to venture into the wilds of the outdoors and into the innocence that can be created from nature and your hands. This is your best opportunity to build a magical little world, one built resilient enough to attract those elusive little beings that would turn your creation into a true to life, "fairy land".
To see a home through a fairies eyes you must look deep into nature itself. Into each tiny detail that is the Earth and its offerings. Imagine yourself as a tiny creature and look at your garden area as though you yourself existed there. See each small stone as though it were a boulder to you, each blade of grass as though it were a branch above your head, each passing bug as though it were a neighboring creature that you would stop to converse with. Fairies are intune with nature and do not wish to see it destroyed. They only want it to be enhanced, made more attractive, but never changed or stolen from them. You want to disturb the beauty of nature as little as possible as you add your ponds, flowers, stones, bird baths or feeders, and other garden accessories.
How To Entice Fairies To Your Garden
Keep in mind that fairies are curious and mischievous. They will be easily enticed by playful or happy images so garden statues are fine. Little houses or cottages are another curiosity, even if they decide not to dwell within them, they will enjoy visiting and playing within them. Wind chimes are also welcome so long as they do not contain bells, bells are an absolute no, they frighten fairies away. Pools of water are fine, but fast moving streams or fountains are another certainty of chasing away fairy folk, rumor has it that running water is actually used as protection against fairies. Other forms of protection from fairies are four leaf clovers, and cold iron, so do not include these in your garden. Kitchen Fairy "in Peapod"Just always remember to keep your garden as natural as possible. Look at it through the eyes of a fairy and the eyes of a child and you will see why natural is best. From the leaves of plants that lie bent sullenly to the ground, to the little bugs that toddle silently along, to the tiny branches that lay tossed about like a lumberpile blown astrew, nature itself has created a magical playground that only needs a few additions to make it absolutely amazing.
Keep the innocence within you as you work in your garden, and it might surprise you just how easily the magic flows from your fingers to the earth around you, bringing new life to an already life filled world.
