Witch In The Woods

Hansel and Gretel

Once upon a time, there was a lovely witch in the woods. She adored children and became a foster witch mother. Her heart was full and open and she was one with the Universe. Children came and children went. Years passed as the skinny sad children grew happy and fat before moving on.

Then came the day when Hansel and Gretel showed up and, no doubt, they were a hard case pair. Wild and shrill, damned near evil in their own right, their own parents had taken refuge from them, fleeing in the dead of night. The neighbors dutifully reported this and the authorities took the children into foster care.

They no sooner arrived at the little house in the woods than they started doing drugs and back talking the foster witch mother. They were the talk of the hood, especially once they started a street gang. It mostly was an excuse to torment the other children; but still, there was a big city feel to it and that, in itself, was in no way acceptable.

Enough was quite enough. "Come, my pretties." said the lovely foster witch mother. And she took them straight to a boot camp for rotten kids.

Very cool translator. Find your fairy name.

My fairy name is Bramble Icefrost. She is a bone chilling bringer of justice for the vulnerable. She lives in leafy dells and bluebell glades. She is only seen during the first snow of winter. She wears bluebell-blue dresses. She has icy blue butterfly wings.

Princess And The Pea

Princess O Mine

The princess was a delicate child, born from a long line of delicate women. It was widely known that her mother would have a very hard time accepting a son-in-law. 'Twould be a true test of a man's bravery to get past Mother.

It was joked about throughout the land, that a man would have to have supernatural abilities to win the princess. But the princess was very, very hot. And men being men, and wanting what's not necessarily good for them, couldn't stop thinking about her. Princess this and Princess that.

It started as a verbal contest, with one-upmanship flying itself across the land. 'For the princess' became a battle cry, from street brawls to organized feats of strength. It became evident to the King and Queen that matters needed to be settled. They began to plot and connive.

Before all the uproar, the princess was considered a bit spoiled, a bit uppity, not really out of character for royality. Could've been worse, she didn't run around shouting "Off with their heads!" at the drop of a hat.

Red Riding Hood MeetsThe Big Bad Wolf

The odds are 2 to 1 in favor of RR Hood.

It was dark and scary in the woods. The Wolf had always felt it; but he was a wolf, what was he going to do? Move into an upscale condo with a heavy duty neighborhood watch? Wouldn't be right. Wouldn't be proper.

Then the RR Hoods showed up and started swinging their weight around, talking bad and stealing little bits and pieces. BB Wolf shuddered as he scampered around, avoiding them and laying low.

This little gang, the RR Hoods was all about the reputation - we are big and we are bad. Old ladies started packing heat just to grab a grocery or two.

Wikipedia's Fairy Tales

A fairy tale is a fictional story that may feature folkloric characters such as fairies, goblins, elves, trolls, giants, gnomes, and talking animals, and usually enchantments, often involving a far-fetched sequence of events. In modern-day parlance, the term is also used to describe something blessed with princesses, as in "fairy tale ending" (a happy ending)Merriam-Webster definition of "fairy tale" or "fairy tale romance", though not all fairy tales end happily. Colloquially, a "fairy tale" or "fairy story" can also mean any far-fetched story. Fairy tales commonly attract young children since they easily understand the archetypal characters in the story.

In cultures where demons and witches are perceived as real, fairy tales may merge into legendary narratives, where the context is perceived by teller and hearers as having historical actuality. However, unlike legends and epics they usually do not contain more than superficial references to religion and actual places, people, and events; they take place once upon a time rather than in actual times.Catherine Orenstein, Little Red Riding Hood Uncloaked, p 9, ISBN 0-465-04125-6

Fairy tales are found in oral folktales and in literary form. The history of the fairy tale is particularly difficult to trace, because only the literary forms can survive. Still, the evidence of literary works at least indicates that fairy tales have existed for thousands of years, although not perhaps recognized as a genre; the name "fairy tale" was first ascribed to them by Madame d'Aulnoy. Literary fairy tales are found over the centuries all over the world, and when they collected them, folklorists found fairy tales in every culture. telegraph.co.uk , Fairy tales have ancient origin Fairy tales, and works derived from fairy tales, are still written today.

The older fairy tales were intended for an audience of adults as well as children, but they were associated with children as early as the writings of the précieuses; the Brothers Grimm titled their collection Childrens and Household Tales, and the link with children has only grown stronger with time.

Folklorists have classified fairy tales in various ways. Among the most notable are the Aarne-Thompson classification system and the morphological analysis of Vladimir Propp. Other folklorists have interpreted the tales significance, but no school has been definitively established for the meaning of the tales.
