On a lens about making fairy wings, that's a joke question, right?
  • Millionairemomma May 18, 2012 @ 12:33 am | delete
I loved this lens. It's really fun and concise. Lots of attention to detail. Some of your Flickr images are not appearing well. I don't know why that happens to me too. If you check on it can you contact me and let me know what it means and how we can make the Flickr images all appear?
  • TLStahling May 16, 2012 @ 3:55 am | delete
My daughter was a fairy for Halloween. We made her wings with tin foil and saran wrap. She was only four years old, but loved it.

Wow! What a gorgeous site. I have always been intrigued by fantasy tales, fairies, the medieval era. I didn't know there were places where you could buy fairy wings (even for adults) YAY! I think it would be fun to make these myself, though. My little ones would love these. Know I will be busy come Halloween.

    Hi Rae,

Wow! You sure bring a lot of detail to this matter! :O)

    Thanks!

I'm not into donning wings, but I get a little thrill out of seeing them. Feels nice knowing there's a little color and fantasy at play, out there.

I'm satisfying my fairy impulses in other ways via IndieGoGo.com. Great place for people who like ideas. If you ever visit or join, check out my mystery project. It's called WHO WANTS TO BE A FAIRY PRINCESS.

    Hahaha! ;O)

    Sunshine & Blessings,

I will link this lens from some of my own based on the fairy wings we stock. It's always better if you can make your own wings as they will be unique, but unfortunately a lot of people just do not have the time. Huge respect for those who do follow these instructions and make a fantastic set of wings. Thanks for sharing!

Also - I had no idea there was an International Faerie Day! Had I known, I might have worn the wings to work ... LOL ... (not really, but it would have been a great threat!)

I am new to squidoo and yours is the first lens that I have seen. I am a story time teacher and have been thinking of doing a set of wings to wear with a story session. I am inspired and will share what I come up with. Also, my teen daughter is a photographer... so, she is always looking for new prop ideas. Thank you for creating such an informative lens.

Very nice Lens, but probably for a totallly different reason than you'd expect. Five years ago my wife had breast cancer - she is a survivor but went through radiation - as part of this, they created a foam mold for her to lie on - she still has them as they look almost like angel wings. *smile*

KadabaCo, a little "leg work" on the internet should let you find fancy pantyhose anytime of the year. Remember to search for pantyhose, stocking and hosiery as all three keywords will bring back different results.

That rocks! I was at an all-night fire circle this past December and just at dawn one AM, a woman suddenly brought out a few dozen pairs of fairy wings and handed them out to the dancers. It was so magickal!

Ana, I had a friend who once described an upcoming May Day event as "lots of little girls with fairy wings being chased by adults with large butterfly nets" and everyone was instantly charmed and wanted to attend. I hope you and your daughter have fun making wings!

    Hi Rachel,
I am a newbie here at Squidoo, found this lens and LOVED it. I have a daughter who simply loves fairies and dressing up, so I will be trying this soon! Thank you so much!! :))

When I lived in SF, I used to go to the Easter pageant held by the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. One of the regular categories is the Best Dressed Dog, so rest assured, I've seen plenty of dogs with wings!

Thanks, Amy! I'm trying to get copies of some pics taken of my latest fairy outfit to add here and I wore the wings I have in the intro again.
