About Faisca

Don't you just want to know?

A student of the liberal arts, Faisca graduated from Assumption College in 2006 with a BA in Political Science; ask him about his political beliefs and he would be inclined to say libertarian. While at college he also waxed philosophical (enough to minor in philosophy, anyway), cultivated his grasp on the English language, learned to love light beer, and started down the path towards enlightenment, or so he hopes.

Faisca is often found putting his right brain to good use by drawing, writing, reading, graphic designing, and generally trying to be as creative as he can. His favorite literary works include George Orwell's 1984 and Stephen King's The Stand. He is fond of modern innovations such as comic books, video games, and movie films. He keeps Aristotle and Spiderman in his pantheon of heroes.

Once upon a time, Faisca discovered the Brazilian art form of capoeira, and his life was never quite the same. He studies under Mestre Loka of CapuraGinga, and passes on his knowledge and skills by teaching at the Assumption College Capoeira Club (which he founded). He doesn't mind if you think he's only "dance fighting," but does hope that you won't be offended when he kicks you in the jaw.

Faisca has played soccer and guitar. He has been a breakdancer and a cheerleader. He is a collector of swords, a believer in bigfoot, and a chaser of dreams.

He prefers Mac over PC.

Like the rest of his species, Faisca realized that after college he must find a job to survive, so he keeps busy working as a technical editor for Hewlett-Packard. For him, this is not ideal, and only serves until he can fulfill his dream of becoming whatever it is he wants to become (this changes almost daily). He lives in Shirley, Massachusetts with a dog, a cat, two parakeets, a bunch of chickens, two parents, a piranha, and occasionally a brother.

About Faisca

I'm in my twenties.

I'm a technical editor by day, and superhero by night!

I play capoeira, and teach it to other crazy people; you can call it "dancing" as much as you want, just don't cry when I kick you in the face and break your nose.

I love to read, write, draw, and do other creative sorts of things.

I'm vehemently opposed to scientology and Jack Thompson.

I play poker, want to give me your money?

I have a soft spot for old school 80s and 90s slow jams.

I read comic books and love Spiderman; if you can't deal with that, too bad, because I'm possibly the coolest geek you may ever meet.

Anything else you want to know about me, you can probably find over at Faisca's Corner.
