Why I'm making this page: "Faith For Dying"

I'm making this page about faith for dying because a recent death in my own family has driven home the reality of the subject and caused me to be even more concerned than I was before that many people don't have faith for dying. I know that death is an unpleasant subject for many and one which many people like to try and avoid. Yet, death is the one part of life (along with taxes, as they say) which cannot be avoided. But death need not be an unpleasant subject, and it need not be feared. I'll explain the why and how in the next text module below, but first you may want to check out a few of the books available on the subject in general.

I sincerely hope this lens will be of help to someone.

What "Faith For Dying" means to me

Yes, death is the door to life

Faith for dying means to me that trust I have in my Lord Jesus to take me safely accross and into His waiting arms.(See main lense photo.)
For my religiouus background see FAITH For Daily Living. I realize that there are many different religous beliefs out there and it would be easy just to shrug and take the position that all roads lead to heaven, but that is no more true in the area of faith than it is in the area of cross country travel. Jesus plainly said, in John 14, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me." I'm not saying that you have to be religous and go through a lot of ceremonies. What I'm talking about is a simple act of fatih. Paul said in Romans 6:23, the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ, His Son. You have only to open your heart to Him and receive His gift by faith. He died on the cross for you. He suffered an agonizing physical death in payment for our sins (See 7 Last Words of Jesus on the Cross) so that we would not have to suffer an eternal spiritual death, but rather could spend all eternity with Him. ("For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have everlasting life." [John 3:16])

Are you saved? Are you sure?

It is of upmost importance that you make sure of your eternal salvation before it is too late.

What dying faith means to me continued

type=textI offer the following brief qote from the article: "Free From The Fear of Death" By Neil Anderson: "The ultimate value is not physical life but spiritual life. If our life is hidden in Christ, then we won't suffer loss when we physically die. We can only gain.
We can say confidently with Paul, 'O death where is your
sting?' The person who is free from the fear of death is free to live today."

I also offer the following anticdote:
A sick man turned to his doctor as he was preparing to leave the examination room and said "Doctor, I'm afraid to die--tell me what lies on
the other side? The doctor very quietly said--"I don't know".
"You don't know? You, a Christain man, do not know what is on the other side?
The doctor was holding the handle of the door. On the other side of the door was a dog who sprang into the room and leaped on him with an eager show of gladness.
Turning to the patient the doctor said "Did you notice my dog?" "He's never been in the room before". "He did not know what was inside. He knew nothing except his master was here and when the door opened he sprang in without fear".
I know little of what is on the other side of death, but I do know one thing I know--my master is there and that is enough.

My poem on faith for dying

The span of man's life was never
Here on earth meant to be forever
Fact is, we were born to die--
Some sooner of us than others,
But, it isn't when or why
But, WHERE that counts, my brothers
For if the loved one knew the LORD,
Then be thou not afraid.
She is not lost, she is not dead,
But, only has gone on ahead
To wait in that fair land of dreams
Where all is pleasant and serene,
And life is like a peaceful chord
That's played and played and played.
