Welcome to Fake Security Cameras

This lens is all about fake security cameras and how they can cheaply and easily add to your piece of mind. They are much less expensive and way more convenient than authentic security cameras making them a no-brainer for the security conscious home owner.

So What is the Deal with Fake Security Cameras

Are they worth looking at?

Until just recently, I didn't even know there was such a thing as a fake security camera. One day, I was browsing around the internet looking for a home security solution for my house and I saw an ad. I clicked the ad and wound up at Amazon.com, looking at a list of imitation security cameras.

The first thought that came to mind was, "those wouldn't actually pass for real cameras, would they?" I started clicking the different links, and checking out the models they had for sale. To me the pictures looked pretty real, but I know that (like with many fast food restaurants) the actual product doesn't always look like the picture. I started reading the descriptions and what I found surprised me: these things are really pretty trick.

Reading the descriptions of these things told me all kinds of things that I could not have guessed. Believe it or not, for about $15 or $20 you can get a dummy security camera that not only looks realistic, but comes with built-in motion sensors and LED lights. They are designed so that as soon as they detect movement, the LEDs flash like the camera is recording, and the camera pans back and forth like a sniper looking for a target.

Okay, so that sounds all well and good, but can they really pass for the real thing? The proof is in the customer reviews, so I started reading them. What I found surprised me in some ways and didn't in others.

What didn't surprise me was that, while you can buy one of these imitation cameras for as little as six dollars, those particular models did not look all that real. Like any consumer product out there, buying the cheapest models will usually end up with you owning junk. That's just par for the course.

What did surprise me was the reviews from the products costing $20 and up. It seems like it was difficult to find a bad review of those models. Everybody went on and on about how realistic they looked, and a few even mentioned that their neighbors even asked them how much they pay for their security system. This was in one case asked by a neighbor who just installed an authentic security system in their own home, and was fairly closely scrutinizing the camera when he asked.

Needless to say, that was enough to convince me to get one and try it out. I was not disappointed and I can assure you that if what you are looking for is a cheap, effective deterrent, you will not be disappointed either.

I was so impressed by what I found out about fake security cameras, that I decided to build a website dedicated to them. Go check out the Fake Security Camera Stop at fakesecuritycamerastop.com.
