Fall Vegetable Garden

Just because Summer is over and we've reached the cooler months of Fall / Autumn, it doesn't mean we have to pack up our vegetable garden. If you have planned ahead, you can still be harvesting vegetables from your fall vegetable garden. And there are still jobs to be done around the vegetable garden.

When planning your Autumn / Fall vegetable garden, you need to be aware that some vegetables are more frost tolerant than others, so it is important to know your frost dates. If you live in USA, UK or Australia (limited areas), you can find out your approximate frost dates here. Any frost-sensitive plants should be planted so that they will mature before your first frost date. An easy way to do this is with a free trial of some vegetable garden planning software which will allow you to plan your vegetable beds, enter your frost dates and then see when the vegetables you have selected can be planted and harvested in your area.

We're having a new roof and solar installed, so a garden is out of the question this year. We do have a couple of robust tomato plants that didn't get wiped out by the demolition crew!
