Are you sleeping in class?

I don't know about you guys, but sometimes it's really difficult to stay awake in class. It's really no surprise either. As students we have to study, thus we go to bed late, and since we wake up early and go to bed late we're extremely tired. The process is then repeated and thus we become even more tired.

As a result a result we fall asleep in class.

Tips to staying awake in class - unhealthy

This part of the article is by Sean Lewis

The following tips should help you stay awake in class. Note that these tips aren't necessarily the best tips, but that's why I am asking Sean for them.

Drink Caffeine - Caffeine will keep you awake in class for a pretty good amount of the time. My favorite beverage has to be Coca Cola. It probably helps the most.

Energy Drinks - Another great type of beverage to drink would be energy drinks. My favorite energy drink would have to be Amp.

Aside from those tips, there really aren't many other unhealthy ways to stay awake in class. However, below are some much healthier ways that will surely help you out.

Healthy ways to stay awake in class

There are many healthier routes to keeping yourself awake in class besides by consuming caffeine. (In my opinion caffeine is definitely not a good choice.)

More Sleep - No brainer. If you want to stay awake in class then go to sleep earlier the night before class. If you're having trouble falling asleep be sure to check out my how to fall asleep tips on my other Squidoo page.

Vitamins - I am no expert however, my friend Sean over here is telling me that specific vitamins can keep you awake and make you wake up if you're having trouble doing so.

Consume Simple Carbohydrates - This isn't the healthiest way to do it, but if you need the quick energy boost try eating things that contain simple carbohydrates. Simple carbs spike blood glucose levels which in turn, will give you a quick boost of energy. White bread is a great way to get that quick spike.

Eat Food - Eat before class. Aside from sleep, food is probably the number one way to keep yourself awake during class. If you don't eat food it won't matter whether or not you got enough sleep if your body has nothing to fuel it. So again, fuel it.

How to fall asleep in class

I definitely do not recommend going to sleep in class because it will result in either

-poor grades
-an angry teacher
-extra homework for the entire class
-other negative things that suck

With that being said, take these tips at your own risk.

Prior to sleep - Before you're going to go to sleep in class ask your friends to wake you up when something important is occurring or when class is over. Remember, you don't want to have to stay in this classroom any longer. You're sleeping because it's boring remember.

Get Comfortable - If you really want to sleep well in class then I recommend using a coat some sort of soft clothing as a below. Sometimes backpacks work and sometimes they don't.

Go to sleep - I hope that you first ask your friends to let you know what's going on if something important occurs. If you've done all of this then it's time to go to bed.
