Play Fallen Sword

Fallen Sword is a free massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG).  In the game you battle fierce creatures and other players to gain experience, gold and better gear as you travel through the many locations.

All you need to play is an internet connection and a web browser.  There are over 4,370,000 registered players in Fallen Sword and all players are ranked daily so you can see how you match up against other gamers.

Warning: This game is addictive.

Features of the Game

Fallen Sword has a lot of features to keep the game fun and interesting. Here are a few of the key ones...
  1. No Ads - Fallen Sword is free and doesn't fill up your browser with ads.
  2. Auction Engine - You can buy or sell any item via the in game auction house. It includes a buy it now feature and the ability to search for items by category and/or level.
  3. Quests - While moving through the game, you may encounter a quest giver who tasks you with a mission in exchange for unknown rewards.
  4. Secure Trades - You can swap items or currency with any other player in the game.
  5. Chat - You can send messages to any player in the game. If you are a member of a guild, there is also a guild chat feature to chat with all other members.
  6. Guilds - Your guild will gain experience as its members do. Guild experience and any gold contributed by members can be used to maintain structures that enhance the fighting statistics of all members. Guilds can fight one another to control relics that also increase member stats and the guild's ranking.
  7. Bounty Board - You can place a bounty on the head of any player who has attacked you. Or, you can play bounty hunter and try to collect the rewards.
  8. Lottery - The game offers daily lotteries for the chance to win gold.

In Game Currency

There are two currencies within the game: gold and FallenSword Points (FSPs).

Gold is earned by attacking creatures or other players and stealing their gold if you are victorious. You can also earn gold by selling items in the auction house and you earn a small allowance hourly. Gold is used to buy and maintain items or guild structures.

FSPs are used to purchase upgrades to your character such as extra backpack slots, increase stamina, etc. They can also be used to purchase items in the auction house. FSPs are obtained by selling items in the auction house, selling gold directly to another player, purchasing for USD from the game, recruiting new players or participating in one of the free affiliate surveys.

Top 5 Tips For New Players

  1. Build Up Your Attack and Damage Levels - You earn level points every time you gain enough experience to level up. Apply these points to your Attack and Damage characteristics. Those will help you the most. It's doubtful anyone will attack you early on (unless you make enemies easily) so don't spend them on Defense or Armor at this point.
  2. Join A Guild - There are many advantages to joining a guild in this game. You can get increases to your statistics, more experienced members may pass you their old items and you can start or join an attack group. Check out the Guilds section of the Fallensword forums for more info on choosing a guild.
  3. Look for Bargains in the Auction House - You won't have a lot of gold so shop around before spending it. You can click the Search Preferences link below the auction search field to limit your searching to specific levels of items.
  4. Attack Higher Level Players - Remember that you can attack any player within +/-5 of your level. What matters is your attack/damage stats against their defense/armor stats. You can steal more gold from a player that is a higher level than you.
  5. Bank Your Gold - Your gold is safe in the bank, but you can only deposit gold into your account once per day. Make a deposit once you get a big stash or before attacking a new creature. You get unlimited withdrawals so the gold will be available when you need it.

MMO's are just a geeky way of escaping from reality. Why else spent so much time in a fantasy world trying to improve a character made up of 0's and 1's?

The game is being mismanaged by a bunch of people with inadeqaute experienced. Code is buggy, game rules are full of exploits, and customer support is widely hated for being stupid and arbitrary -- you can be banned from the game for the vague "violation" of "having a bad attitude." As a result, the game has fewer and fewer players with each passing day. it is a dieing game -- just like SigmaStorm2, Hunted Cow's other game that they recently announced they were going to no longer support.

Because you cannot really enjoy the game without "donating" -- and will still be treated badly when you do -- save your time and money for a game with a future. Fallen Sword is going to die within a year, I bet.

Don't waste you time with this game, played it for two years only to see first hand that the administrators are biased to the top 20 guilds. Doesn't matter what you do in the game, arenas, titan hunting, etc., they are biased and I called them on it, only to be black balled by the administrators in the arenas. Top guilds get changes made for them and all the other players are thrown to the way side, even if you donate. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME PLAYING THIS GAME LIKE I DID !!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is very true. My account was hacked and I lost a lot of stuff and I bet i donated $1000 to this game and the administrators more or less told me to bad. Not to mention the fact that a lot of the players on there is out to just help themselves regardless of what help you need. I will admit that there are some friends that I made on that game that I still hold to this day outside of the game and they are from very different parts of the world but I played for 2 years much like this kind fellow and only found these 3 players that I could call good enough people to be called my friends.

Reading the threads here, I empathize, as well as agree on many points. However, like anything else, you need to be careful about who you associate with online. 1.) Hacking. HC has just addressed this by warning against any further use of bots to help player development -- largley because they lead to accounts being hacked. 2.) Yes, the Cows do seem to listen to the top Guilds because some of the suggestions that seem outlandish are considered, or you as the player, are ridiculed by others and your points ingored (via the player forum). 3.) You can earn the game currency, FSPs, and lots of it, through certain activities, without ever spending your own (real) money. The big way is through the guild conflict system. Alas, now the Cows appear bent on changing that system, so there will be fewer ways to earn FSPs within the game....Thayt's my real-time take on this, as a current and active member.

I've never played an MMORPG before and have recently become interested. It's amazing how many people play throughout the world.

I am a big fan of MMORPGs so any MMO by default has a positive vote though a lot of recent ones are more grind than anything new. I will try Fallen Sword for sure to see how great is.

Keep your kids away from this stuff because it can become an obsession. My son played World of Warcraft and practically flunked a grade and he's extremely smart. He shows signs of addiction. Extremely up when time to play, and aggitated, withdrawn and aggressive when he cannot. And he can play this stuff for 15 hours on end.
