War Never Changes
The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, in the year 2277, on the East Coast of what used to be the United States of America, following The Great War between the US and China, a conventional and nuclear war that occurred on October 23, 2077 and lasted less than two hours despite causing immense damage and destruction. The gameplay features include real-time combat and first or third person perspective, in contrast to the previous games, which were turn-based and isometric.
The Player is a young inhabitant of Vault 101, a fallout shelter in the Washington D.C. area. The vault has reportedly been sealed for 200 years until the player's father opens the only door to the outside world and disappears without any explanation. (read all)

Desolated and forgotten it looks like the scene from post apocalyptic "Mad Max" movie. Photo post processing adds even more drama. Post Apocalyptic photography is already sweet. But Fallout 3 is the greatest invention since sliced bread.

Poll: Which version of Fallout 3 Did You Get?
I usually don't buy single player games on release day but in this case I pre-ordered the PC Collectors Edition a couple of weeks ago, with metal lunchbox and Vault-boy figurine. I intend to play the hell out of this game. This one is supposed to last over 50 hours and has several different possible endings. The experience will change depending on how you play the game - as a good or bad character.

Fallout 3 vs Oblivion
Oblivion and fallout 3 are quite similar in many ways. They run on the same engine. Which of those two you like more would likely come down to setting. Do you like fantasy, or a post apocalyptic wasteland? 2 VERY awesome games.....Tough choice, no doubt.

In essence, Fallout 3 is Oblivion with a sci-fi/post-apocalyptic skin on it. New players will greatly enjoy the game if they liked Bethesda's previous game, Oblivion, or if they had fun with 2K Game's Bioshock. In my view, Fallout 3 is definitely worth playing - it just isn't the Fallout fans of the franchise might be expecting.
