Ways to Keep Children Entertained while Traveling in the Car for the Holidays
It can also be less expensive as many flights are more expensive during holiday travel times due the demand passengers have. Traveling with children though can be difficult if you aren't prepared.
It is important to be realistic about the expectations you have for children during holiday travel. You can't expect them to sit quickly for 10 or 20 hours or drive time without activities.
Make sure you plan your trip so you can stop every three or four hours at a rest area or even a park along the way to allow them to run around for a while.
There are plenty of age appropriate games that can be played in the car during travel for the holidays. Car Bingo features game cards that have different pictures on them including railroad tracks, cows, and different road signs.
Even children that aren't old enough to read are able to take part in this type of car game.
Since there will likely be people from other states traveling as well over the holidays, make a game to identify cars from as many states as possible.
Have a list with you and then mark them off as you identify them. Try to take along small toys or treats you can give your children as s surprise throughout the trip.
There are plenty of CD's out there these days with fun songs for children to listen to and to sing along with. For extremely long road trips over the holidays you might want to purchase a system with monitors so the children can watch movies as they travel. This can be a lifesaver, especially when there is only one adult traveling in the vehicle.
Traveling with your children during the holidays offers the perfect chance for everyone to visit and get to know each other better.
Play a game where one person asks a question and then each person in the car gets the chance to answer. The questions can be simple such as what is your favorite color or more in depth such as what is your best memory.
In addition to helping to pass the time you will learn a great deal about your children and they will learn more about you as a person instead of just as their parent.
Nothing is going to create problems in the car faster than not having enough room for the children and for all the times you need to take with you. Consider buying a container that will ride on the top of the vehicle so you don't need to place luggage inside of the vehicle with them.
It may be a good idea to consider renting a larger car or a mini van when you travel for the holidays to ensure everyone will have sufficient room to ride comfortably. Never have more people in the vehicle than you have seat belts for, even if you are traveling in states that don't require them.
Children will likely sleep during the road trip so make sure you bring along pillows and blankets. Their favorite stuffed animals along with cups for drinks and delicious snacks will help ensure the ride is fun for everyone as you travel for the holidays.
It is a good idea to have extra supplies in case you get caught up in a road closure or traffic jam. You should carry a cell phone will you as well in case you need to assist someone.
You need to plan for delays and expect the trip to take you longer than normal when you travel during the holidays. The additional traffic on the roads as well as people at the restaurants where you stop for food along the way are going to result in more time being spent that usual.
Don't attempt to speed while traveling with children in the car during the holidays. You want to get there safely and if it takes longer to ensure that happens then spend that time bonding with your children along the way.

Traveling can be fun on family holidays
Disney World Traveling
Disney World is probably the most popular theme park in the world, attractions, rides, characters, the works, there is no doubt that nobody goes to Disney World to get headaches. To prevent unnecessary muscle and head pain, it is best to be prepared.
Proper Season
It is best to go to Disney World during off season, which is roughly around early January to mid February, or after Labor Day through mid December. During off season, there are less people, less congestion and less headaches. What's more, it rarely gets cold in Florida, even during winter season, and it gets swelteringly hot and humid during summer, so winter, really is the time to go.
The Proper Lodgings
Although it is cheaper to stay in hotels outside of Disney World, the extra cash you'll have to cough up if you stay inside is more than made up for by the comfort and convenience of an inside stay.
Imagine traveling from your room, then going through the 47 square mile area that is Disney World, then traveling back to your hotel%u2026 exhausting isn't it?
The Proper Schedule
Where to actually go once you get there is determined by your choice of companions, kids, teenagers or adults.
Kids
Go through Cinderella's Castle and Visit Fantasy Land or Mickey's Toon Town, the little tots will surely love all the characters roaming around that area. The rides in these parts are built for 6 year olds and below, but mommy or daddy can still squeeze themselves in if they want.
Adults or Teens
A trip to the Magic Kingdom may be in order if you're with big kids. You can go to Splash Mountain to get wet or to Space Mountain to get some indoor rollercoaster, and fun for the bumpy person, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad should be enough to satisfy their taste for adventure.
Rides for Everyone
If you want something that everyone can enjoy, a ride in the Walt Disney World Railroad, can rest those tired feet and at the same time give you an enjoyable view of Magic Kingdom.
Haunted Mansion, although not really for very young kids, can be a thrill for toddlers, it's a ride not a walk through so there's no tripping or running involved.
For relaxing walks, try the Tiki Room Show or the Swiss family Tree House.
The Proper Dining Experience
For cute snacks, try the Aloha Isle inside Adventureland, they conjure up creative drinks and snacks, a good place to try something cute and different.
Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe provides a cool indoor dining area between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland where you can enjoy your food to your hearts content.

Tips On Traveling With The Family
When traveling, most would not agree with the more, the merrier. But it can be!
Well, it should be.
Traveling with the family can be hassle- free and loaded with fun. There is no reason you shouldn't bring the kids and the entire family with you.
Here are a few tips you can use for an easy, stress- free travel.
Plan with the entire family
Get each family member's opinion on which places to go. Kids love it when they get involved. Make a short list of the places they want to visit and get the majority's preference. Plan simple yet fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.
Distribute tasks
Help each other especially when packing. Give each one a responsibility. You can have your kids check on the first- aid kit, your husband to bring all bulky equipments and you take charge preparing the food.
This way, your load can be lessened and everyone would feel the importance of each one's contribution.
Travel light
Since most of the space of your car would be for people, pack only the essential things you need. If possible you can hire strollers for the kids instead of carrying one.
Transfer shampoos, mouthwash and the like in small plastic containers instead of bringing the entire thing. Remember that traveling light doesn't mean traveling incomplete. Carry all important stuff you need to bring.
Secure your house
Since all of your family members are with you on the trip, you can opt to hire a house sitter. If not, have a neighbor look out for the house for you. Unplug all electrical appliances and be sure to secure all door and windows.
Be safe
Always carry with you a medicine kit for emergencies. This should include aspirins, laxative, insect repellant, bandages, ointments and alcohol.
More importantly, bring enough prescription drugs if any of the family members is on medication. Bring enough to last for the entire duration of the trip.
Bring in the fun
Take pictures and videos to document your trip. Take turns in using the camera, this way everyone will get a memorable shot taken.
You can take the pictures and put them in a nice travel journal when you get home. This way you can enjoy the fun memories as often as you want.
Remember that the entire objective of a family trip is to have fun. Follow the quick tips above and you can head your way to an enjoyable travel.

Beat The Heat In Australia!
Fine beaches, perfect weather, good people, and a more secure traveling experienceIf you are looking for all these conveniences and excitement, let Australia handle that for you.
Perk up your traveling experience in the sixth largest country in the world, twice as large as Europe but less crowded.
Make a choice from a wide variety 7000 fantastic beaches and enjoy the luscious greens of flora of approximately 25000 species and diverse but unique fauna as evidenced by the Kangaroo. Australians are fun-loving people and are very sociable.
You can learn so much about their culture because of their very straightforward attitude towards guests and strangers.
Language Discrepancies
English maybe the widely spoken language in Australia but there are utterances which makes them unique to the rest of the English-speaking world and terminologies better left unsaid.
Some of the most common are Cobber = Buddy, Fairdinkum = Really and Cold One = Beer. Phrases such as righto = okay/alright and rag up = dress warmly are also common.
The word "root" may have evolved to mean "sex" in Australia so it is better to keep from saying that word as long as you could. Same thing applies to "fanny" which came to mean a female's private part.
Weather
Among the 7 continents, Australia probably has the weirdest climate. Unlike the US, the months of December to February are the hottest and most humid dates of the year.
Keep in mind that Australia's climate is just the exact opposite with that of the Northern Hemisphere
Southern Australia was recorded to having the harshest climate during the summer season and keeping it out of your itinerary is advisable.
Depending on where you are headed, there are must-haves and clothing you will need to prepare to make sure you will not be caught off-guard for any circumstances that are expected along the way.
Sunglasses and sunscreens and light clothing are important in Australia due to hot climate in some regions, but keeping a jacket during the cold night is a must especially in the southern temperate region. Nice pair of boots in the bushes is practically essential.
Transportation
Public vehicles such taxis are commonplace in Australia. Most taxis charge "flagfall" and a surcharge for distant travels.
"Keep left" is the rule of driving here. It can be quite confusing at times but being careful will surely keeps you away from trouble.
Tipping
Just the exact opposite of the west. Tipping may not be a no-no but it is not generally practiced here but you can do so in some special occasions.
There are simply 1001 ways to enjoy the beauty of Australia and the good thing is, you can add more to rev up your rewarding traveling experience.
Traveling to a distant place poses a lot of challenges but surely it is satisfying and worth the pennies! So enjoy and don't forget to have a cold one with a cobber!
