Planners and date books for moms (and dads)

Your kids have a busy schedule: school, soccer practice, ballet... Play dates, going to the park, homework... You cannot organize every detail of their lives, but you do have to keep track of a lot. These family calendars and organizers have been created just for your challenge as a mom of keeping track of the schedules in your family.

In between - try and schedule some time for yourself too, will you! Moms need play time as well, to remember what adult conversations and adult interests look like, sound like, feel like. With your husband - or without - make sure you get to relax too.

Most of these are for moms. For those dads out there who are taking on the organization of their families and for whatever reason not leaving it up to mom - some of these do come in colors that I don't think you'd be ashamed to walk around with.

Dated Organizer for moms 2009-2010

Leather family organizers: daily and monthly pages included

It's hard to find a good organizer. I've looked online and most come without a dated calendar set. For some reason most merchants prefer selling undated ones. You, the customer should stand up for yourself and buy a dated calendar. After all - these things are supposed to be helping you get and stay organized. It's not very practical to have to go in and fill in all the dates of the year manually.

These organizers for parents by MomAgenda are therefore DATED.

Comes in Grey and Dark Red.

If you already have one, you can of course get a refill.

All MomAgenda products can be embossed and personalized. Colors available for this product: Gold, Silver and White.

Family_time.mine Tan Pottery August 2009-December 2010

This line of family planners has different set up than most others on this page. Instead of having room for each family member on the week spreads, it has pages for the regular activities of your family, room for contact information relating to kids, to the family as a whole, the baby sitter(s) etc.

I guess it really depends on HOW you want to go about organizing your family and how many recurring activities your family has. If the schedule is pretty tight, simply writing down the schedule once (instead of each week) is probably a good idea. That's just how this planner is set up.

Any exceptions can be put in the weekly pages. Each weekly page includes a section for notes as well as squares for each weekday.

Grab 'N' Go: 2010 Desk Calendar

This chic and calendar is a great tool for any mom who wants help keeping track of her weekly appointments as well as her kids' activities each week. There's space at the top of each page to help mom plan her days, and the bottom half allows enough room to keep track of up to four kids' practices, play dates, appointments, school events, etc.

Monthly tabs provide easy reference, and there's space at the bottom of each page to jot down important notes and special reminders or to keep lists.

There is a family reference guide in the back for names and numbers, babysitter information, children's friends, emergency contacts, and services.

The easel-backed stand allows the calendar to sit easily on a desk, or it can be folded up and tossed in a purse or tote.
