Let's start with the facts about us. Family Tents World.com is an ecommerce site owned and operated by Triantán Ventures, a small South African internet business. We bring tents for the whole family together in one place: family camping tents, backpacking tents, screen houses, canopies, kids tents and pet shelters. We launched our site 1 May 2010 and look forward to many years of great business.

Now, what is the philosophy behind Family Tents World.com? It's simple: We firmly believe that recreation is important for a happy and healthy life. You can't always work, you also need to play. That applies for both adults and kids. Well, adults usually tend to call it "fun" or "leisure", not "play", but it boils down to the same thing: spending fun time doing things you enjoy.

Family Tents World.com is not a typical camping store, as you will soon find out. We rather focus on leisure and recreation of all your family members, wherever tents can be involved. That can be camping. But it can also be enjoying your blooming garden under your canopy, or your child passing adventures in his play tent.

A long walk and an exciting venture

Here is what Bettina Berlin, the owner of Triantán Ventures and founder of Family Tents World.com, has to say:

"Had you told me a few years ago that I would be selling tents one day, I would have said: Never! I was passionate about my profession, occupational therapy, working with physically and learning disabled kids, and adults with neurological diseases. But this very passion for my work eventually brought me to leave Germany and emigrate to South Africa - where my degree in OT was not easily accepted. Frustrated with the Health Council's requirements, I decided to do something else instead and did a course in internet marketing which taught me how to set up an ecommerce website. The perfect job for someone in South Africa without a car who wants to raise her own kids at home.

Not that I was an expert in camping tents, but the niche was promising and I had always liked camping. So I decided I can become an expert. It was very hard to find a supplier who would dropship for me, since there are not many in South Africa, and many US companies don't want to work with non-US business owners. However, when I found Gigatent, I was thrilled, not least because of their wide range of kids play tents which any occupational therapist would like. That's when my idea of "tents for the whole family" was born - they even cater for pets. And so does Family Tents World.com."

We sell a variety of camping tents that will be great for your next camping holiday: family size camping tents in different sizes so that your family is not squeezed together, cabin tents with 2-4 rooms to make family camping life easier and more comfortable, and of course backpacking tents for your trip to the wild outdoors. But that's not all. Family Tents World.com also offers screen houses and canopies for your garden parties, barbeques or simply enjoying summer moments in your garden. Not to forget our kids range which includes play tents, camping tents, hide and seek tunnels and bed tents, and our pet shelters that can accommodate your little dog or cat when you go camping.

However, we think that just selling tents is not enough. That's why we are building up a collection of articles related to our products. These shall make it easier for you to find the right tents by giving you additional information. But they shall also help you to make the best out of the tents you have by giving you tips how to care for them, or game ideas, camping tips and much more.

Thirdly, we would like to acknowledge that no website can answer all your questions or store all information. Neither can Family Tents World.com.
