One of my absolute favorite festivals is actually a fair in Maine called "The Common Ground Fair." It's primarily a fair to showcase Made in Maine goods and foods - mostly organic. No rides or junky foods either. It's just wonderful! Usually the 3rd weekend after Labor Day. It's put on by the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association. DEFINITELY worth the trip! (It's in Unity, ME).

One of the things I always hate afterward is the lack of down time during the vacation to just kind of veg and take things in. We always seem to be in a constant rush to get in as much as possible. One of my favorite parks is Jasper National -- highly recommend.
