Having Fun in China With the Kids!!!
While not your typical family vacation spot, China does offer so much for kids, just don't expect Disneyworld!!! People will tell you it's too polluted, too crowded, there is not much of interest for children, well yes, it will be crowded and polluted, but we did find tons of stuff to do with the kids. It did take a little preparation but in the end, we all had a wonderful time!

Things to Do
China is such a big country, there is so much to see and do, the main thing to keep in mind when you're traveling with kids is to keep a light and easy schedule with plenty of activities to entertain them. 
- We took some time to fly kites at Tian'anmen Square. Chinese are great for kite flying, just watch the local kids... 
- At the Great Wall, we chose the part at MutianYu, which is not as crowded. If you go early in the afternoon you will practically have the Wall to yourself.- We took the chair lift up and the Toboggan down, great fun! Who said history had to be boring!
- The rickshaw ride through the Hutongs (old Beijing neighborhoods) was a lot of fun as well as a learning experience. 
- And what better place to go see Giant Pandas but China? 
We biked around the Xian City Wall. It took about 2 hours, maybe longer, we stopped a lot. There were warriors guarding the gates and some sort of "changing of the guard" mini-ceremony.There are tandem bicycles available so a small child can ride with one adult.
