Family Promise does this this by helping communities mobilize to provide safe shelter, meals, and support services for homeless families and through programs designed to work against the underlying causes of homelessness.

Family Promise - Serving and Making a Real Difference
4 families are helped at a time. Churches house and care for the families for a week or so at a time on a rotation basis. The average stay of the families is 90 days. Seventy-five percent of the families graduate from the Family Promise program with full time jobs and permanent housing.
Family promise of Gwinnett's goal is to help 300 families by the year 2010.

- Thanks for making this lens. I am making a lens for our local chapter of FP which I am involved in. We are just getting off the ground and trying to inform the community about how important it is to keep families together when they are going through difficulties.
