Pia Legong
One famous snack from Bali is pia, a mung bean filled pastry. The other name for pia is bakpia (Javanese), or hopia (Filipino). It could be this pastry is originally introduced by Chinese immigrants in Southeast Asia. Commonly come in traditional filling such as mung bean, nowadays pia come in many filling such as cheese, chocolate, durian, pineapple, etc.
One famous pia is Pia Legong. This specialty pia is different from other traditional pastry. The outer pastry is a flacky type of Chinese puff pastry. Currently the available filling are mung bean, chocolate and cheese. Some foodies describe this pastry is exclusive version of Bakpia Pathok from Jogyakarta (Central Java).
