Delicious Pumpkin Pie

Cook a pumpkin pie in you own oven for dinner, it will be delicious.  Your home will be filled with the wonderful fragrance of the spices and pumpkin.  You will be famous for your pumpkin pie!

The History of Pumpkin Pie

When you think of the Pilgrims and the Indians at the first celebration of a fall harvest, you think of turkeys and pumpkins. The first celebration would have happened between 1620 - 1692 in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Of course, they didn't have electricity or ovens as we know them. So, they couldn't have made today's version of a pumpkin pie.

The Indians simply roasted pumpkins over a fire or boiled them. There is no actual record of how today's delectable pumpkin pie developed from that basic start.

An Amazon customer review:
" 5.0 out of 5 stars It's way better than any other canned pumpkin on the market, September 6, 2007
By C. Hsieh -
I buy canned pumpkins regularly because my cat craves for them. Used to buy these from Whole Foods but somehow they stopped filling the racks. You just can't buy other kinds of canned pumpkin with this kind of quality. It's not watery, not sweetened, and no other ingredients added."
There were lots of other favorable reviews. The only complaint was that the cans often arrived dented.

Pumpkin Pie Pan

Here is a unique pumpkin pan for your pumpkin pie

If you have never cooked pumpkin pie or if you just need a new pie pan this cute pumpkin shaped 9 inch pan is for you! Any recipe for a 9 inch pie will fit in the pan. Amazon customer review of the pan:
"What a fun, fun pan. Perfect for a favorite pumpkin pie recipe, with the recipe included with the pan. The simple pumpkin shape and sloped sides allow piecrust to mold beautifully, and the crust and filling bake up evenly because of the anodized aluminum finish. The nice rim makes it easy to crimp the edges of the pie quite smartly. And this nifty pan accommodates cookie dough or cake batter as well--just follow recipe directions for preparing the surface of the pan for baking. And what a delightful surprise to decorate an open-faced pumpkin pie, cake, or giant cookie with piped whipped cream or frosting, adding raisins or candies for a proper pumpkin mouth, nose, and eyes. The pan cleans up with soap and water, or you can slip it into the dishwasher. And it's too fun to hide in a drawer--prop it onto an open shelf and enjoy! --C. Whitney-Ward"
