Old Faithful is truly a natural Wonder worth seeing.

Chris-H says:

I would definitely go see it, but I'd also want to wander some of the back trails. Off the well beaten path is more my cup of tea.

LaraineRose says:

Yellowstone National Park is an unforgettable experience. You can set your watch by Old Faithful.

ellagis says:

I can't help getting astonished when I see "nature at work".... I really can see the beauty in every expression of the nature, so - although I've never see it yet - I'm sure that Old Faithful is something great.

Water shooting up in the air every few hours just isn't my thing

Yellowstone Park WIldlife

Yellowstone Park BisonVisiting Yellowstone park isn't just about the geysers, fumaroles, hot springs and mud pots. There is an amazing variety of wildlife to see also. High on the list are the Bison. You will find them scattered throughout the park feeding and relaxing near the creaks and rivers and sometimes having a party in the middle of the road. Many a traffic jam is cause by the bison wandering down the highway. While this makes for some awesome photo opportunities, this also means getting from one place to another in the park can take a while at times. Prepare for delays and enjoy the scenery.

In the canyon area of Yellowstone you will find ospreys. The best time to view them is around mid April to early May. This is when they start to make nests to rear their young. If you happen to catch them within three weeks of being hatched they look like fluff balls of down. After three weeks they start to look like small versions of their parents.

Elk and mule deer also share the plans with the bison along with Bighorn sheep and Pronghorn. At times you will find mule deer feeding in some of the park tourist areas. It's best to admire these animals from a distance. While they are used to having animals around, they are still wild and can pose a real threat if you get too close.
