There have been many famous journal keepers throughout history, both real and fictional. Some of these journal keepers have had major impacts on the world that we currently live in.
In modern times the diary or journal still pops up regularly in movies and books, sometimes in the hands of an angst ridden hero and sometimes as an obscure clue in an age old mystery.

Adrian Mole is the main character in such books as The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole aged 13 3/4 and The Growing Pains of Adrian Mole.

Yes, you read right. Jessica Simpson is a keen journal keeper and uses her entries to inspire her music. She even has journal reading parties with her friends.
