You are a genius, when it comes to preparing a meal you are wonderful. I don't eat red meat, so chicken and any kind of poultry is going to catch my eye. You not only had the main course (the chicken) you had the side dishes and your rice was impeccable. I obviously had a way to roast chicken, but now I've gained another. You have my thanks for sharing this wonderful menu, this makes a great meal. I hope you are well, and enjoying this holiday season, dear friend. Wishing you love and happiness, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. See you around the galaxy...

This looks delicious . . hey, you could try the new munch theme to see if you like it on this one (I did for a couple of mine and I liked it better).

This menu and recipes look so wonderful I will HAVE to try it and not just vicariously enjoy. The story of Zimbabwe is truly awful. I hope you are all thriving in your new home in Ireland, but hope also that Zimbabwe might find restoration in some future date.

Your roast chicken dinner looks wonderful. The last time I roasted a chicken I stuffed it with lemon quarters and crushed garlic cloves. Yummy!

I haven't made a roast chicken in a long time. This lens makes me want to try it again.
There is nothing better than good friends to share good and simple food! Blessed by a SquidAngel

Having meals with friends and family happens a lot in this house - 13 here for food later today - and I love the way you weave your own persoal stories into your lenses Spook.

Lovely chicken stiffing and one that I must definitely try.

You know what makes food even more delicious? Sharing them with family and friends. There is nothing more enjoyable in the world than being with the ones you love, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. I enjoyed reading your lens! :-)

I loe roast chicken! It's one of my favorite meals to make when I have company. I also like roasting the vegetables in the oven as you suggest here, it really brings out the flavors.

This lens is awesome. I love it. I am going to tell my editors on my Thai News website to write something about this lens and probably feature it.

I will comment here again once we do.

    Great Work

Your stuffing recipe sounds scrumptious, especially to someone who does not like the kind of stuffing typically prepared in the states. I will just have to go about converting the measurements correctly, which doesn't seem like too much of a challenge. Wish me luck!

Big congratulations for your purple star on this lens. I have to say that roast chicken is one of my favorite dishes. And sharing it with friends makes it truly special. It's so good that you found friends in Ireland who are from Zimbabwe.
  • OhMe Nov 9, 2009 @ 12:14 pm | delete
I love this lens. The photos and recipes are wonderful as well as the photos of your friends from Zimbabwe who have moved to Ireland. Blessed by a Squid Angel.

A delicious meal and a beautiful story to go with it! We are fortunate to have our freezer fat with chicken - raised them ourselves over the summer, so will be making your meal and thinking of you.

This makes my mouth water! I like the interesting stuffing recipe; much different than what I make but it sounds very good. The asparagus looks fabulous. What a wonderful menu, a wonderful gathering of friends, and a fabulous lens!
  • mysticmama Aug 17, 2009 @ 4:34 pm | delete
Looks fantastic...I just love asparagus and I'm crazy for parsnips...being Irish, parsnips are one of the staples of life...yummy :-)
  • papawu Aug 17, 2009 @ 1:43 pm | delete
Looks absolutely scrumptious Kevin! Although I am currently recovering from a fractured jaw and can't really eat solid foods, this is well worth the torture. LoL.
  • davidstillwagon Aug 17, 2009 @ 12:02 pm | delete
It really looks great! I didn't know what courgette was either.

The photos of the mouthwatering food really make this a tasty lens -- making my tastebuds drool for lunch! We will be having dinner with several good friends on Saturday night!
  • KimGiancaterino Jun 22, 2009 @ 7:09 pm | delete
I really like the way you constructed this lens. A great meal and the history behind it. I just have to remember that Courgette = Zucchini in the U.S. (and I love them!) Blessed and featured on my Squid Angel Diary this week.
