Fanfiction on Kindle
If you enjoy fanfiction (fanfic or FF) you can read fanfiction on your Kindle Device as it is OR convert the fanfiction to files which work with your device. You can then enjoy reading the fiction on your Kindle. I show you how you can read fanfiction on your Kindle below.
If you're new to Fanfiction, it's basically fiction which involves popular characters like Harry Potter or popular locations such as Narnia but written by fans of the work rather than the original author. In fanfiction anything is possible.
Perhaps Professor Severus Snape gets to go back in time so he can get the woman of his dreams. Or maybe The White Witch of Narnia isn't defeated by Aslan. Fans can tell the stories as they want and write in different possibilities or new stories all together. Image credits are supplied near the bottom of the page and are listed in the Table of Contents below.

Where to get FanFiction for your Kindle
One of the most popular fanfic sites is FanFiction.net This has enough fanfiction to please the most voracious readers. I prefer this website because it has a huge variety of fanfiction to choose from and the search facility permits me to look only for completed works instead of work in progress pieces which personally I'm not interested in. You can also search for specific characters which I like to do when hunting for Harry Potter fiction.
Other popular fanfiction sites include:

Once you find some fanfiction you like, it is normally possible to paste the text (usually chapter by chapter) into a word processor or a text document. Archive of Our Own allows you to view the entire work so you can get it in one go rather than having to move to each new chapter.
When you grab your text, you can save it as a .txt file (although this will lose formatting like bolding and italics) and then place it into the Documents folder of your Kindle device when you have it plugged into your computer.
If you want to keep the formatting, you could save it instead as either a Word .doc OR a HTML file and email this file to your Kindle. This is a little more complicated to set up but I explain the process on my Kindle blog. Refer to >> Kindle in my Kitchen and then move down to the section entitled: Sending Files Wirelessly to your Kindle email address.
Calibre is ebook management software which handily can transfer many formats like HTML into Kindle friendly files like MOBI for you. The advantage of having your file as a MOBI file is that you can either place it straight to your Kindle device, email it to your Kindle OR get it directly on your Kindle from a free storage site such as dropbox.
The dropbox trick is awesome >> Dropbox ebooks to Your Kindle

FanFictionDownloader and Kindle

There is an awesome program which you use to grab your fanfiction in complete parts. FanFictionDownloader >> http://www.fanfictiondownloader.net
If you have Calibre, the ebook management program, installed then you can get all the fanfiction you want via FanFictionDownloader and choose MOBI files which you can use with your Kindle.
If you don't want to use Calibre as well, then you can still use FanFictionDownloader but choose the output as a TXT file and just place it on your ereading device.
As an example of how you use the FanFictionDownloader program, you need to take the URL of the fanfiction that you would like to read. For fanfiction.net this would be in the format: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/11111 - this is the link at the top of your web browser. You place this http link into the FanFictionDownloader program and choose the output format you want.
If you need to ask questions about how FanFictionDownloader works, refer to the FanFictionDownloader Board

- You might want to check out: https://bitbucket.org/cryzed/lemon. Lemon is a Python script that keeps tracks of your chosen stories on FanFiction.Net or FictionPress.com, downloads newly released chapters, merges them into a story file with Kindle HTML markup and forwards them to your Kindle.
