FFX Silly Subtitles: The Madness Continues
Last time, we left the heroes of Final Fantasy X heading towards Chaucer Temple, near the river of hallucination lights. What strange and wonderful things will we discover about the world of Stila next?
For those just tuning in, these are screenshots from a recorded play-through of FFX that I purchased on eBay. I thought it was an authorized movie edition, but it turned out to be bootleg. The translations range from awkward to incomprehensible-- and the results can be very amusing.
Despite the bad translations, this part has spoilers to the later parts of the story. Final Fantasy X a great game, so if you haven't played it yet... do. Even my sixty-year-old parents love it.

Evidently the Farplane was called "Yijie" in Japanese. For once, the guys who brought you "Wendy" and the "Albert Saksy" were stumped. Let's help our erstwhile fansubbers invent a new name for Yijie that will sound familiar to English-speaking audiences!

I'm dying. Really. You deserve a medal. And a celebratory replica of the Masamune (the real Masamune, not Auron's maypole on a stick) to wound the translators (all three of them!) severely.
Suggestion: Poke. Hard.

I looked up "flagitious" and found a dictionary that has it (which was the first dictionary I turned to, actually). It means "criminal" or "villainous."
