Fantastic four

Fantastic Four #1 is nothing less than the comic book that put Marvel on the map. Before Spider-Man, the Hulk, the X-Men, or anything else emerged from the self-styled "House of Ideas," there was the Fantastic Four, breaking all the superhero rules and taking comic-book adventure -- not to mention comic-book sales -- to a new level. The Fantastic four was created to rival the new Justice League comic book that was becoming such a hit with Marvels rival DC comics, who created such things as superman. Stan Lee as a result created this comic to rival it and did an astounding job of it to.

As well as having movies made after the comics there have also been games.

Reed Richards is the leader of the fantastic four. He is a scientific genius who is able to stretch his body to abnormal lengths. It was Reed Richards idea that made the fantastic four go up into space and he was therefore partly to blame for the changes that occured to the others.

Susan Richards is Reed Richards wife and the teams second in comand. Intelegent and beautiful Susan Richards has the ability to go invisible and also to produce force fields.

Johny Storm is Susan Richards brother. Johny Storm has always been the show off of the fantastic four and likes the spotlight. His powers are to surround himself with flames and fly. He also has the ability of throwing fireballs.

Ben Grimm is the muscle behind the fantastic four. He has always looked after Reed Richards even in their school days. Ben Grimm has a heart of gold, and he possesses superhuman strength and endurance, his skin is monstrous, craggy, orange, and looks as if made of scales or plates (often mistakenly referred to as "rocks"). Ben Grimm is also known for his great courage and fighting skill in addition to his strength.

Victor von Doom is considered the archenemy of the Fantastic Four. He was once a classmate of the Fantastic Four's Reed Richards. Victor von Doom was also a brilliant scientist but he became jealousy of Richards. Victor von Doom received facial scars from an experiment gone awry.

The Surfer was originally Norrin Radd, a young astronomer of the planet Zenn-La who agreed to serve as herald to the god-like entity, Galactus, in order to save his home planet from destruction. He was granted enormous powers after being imbued by a small portion of the Power Cosmic. The Silver Surfer encountered the Earth superhero team called the Fantastic Four who helped him rediscover his humanity.
