My Top Fantasy TV & Film Dragons
Dragon 1 - Kilgharrah
These are my favorite dragons on TV and film. These are rated for the dragon rather than the film. Though I did enjoy these films too.
My top TV dragon is Kilgharrah. Kilgharrah is a great dragon who in Merlin is chained by Uther Pendragon beneath the castle of Camelot. This dragon is knowledgeable, ancient and wise yet seeks vengeance against Uther for what he has done. He helps the young Warlock Merlin.
The voice of the dragon is very distinctive and played by John Hurt (V for Vendetta). For a small local TV show the dragon realism is fantastic

Merlin is my all time favorite TV fantasy series. I am certain it is meant for children but I don't care. It is worth the view for any fantasy fans. It is different. The characters are both fun and serious and the relationship between the two lead characters Arthur and Merlin is brilliant. To start with the series is lighthearted but as you go deeper into the seasons the stakes are higher and it becomes more serious. The characters become more interesting and change.

Mu-Shu must be the smallest dragon ever with the biggest personality is the little red Drag-on in the animated film Mulan. This little chap is full of energy and attitude and always getting into trouble, but he has a big heart. I think Eddie Murphy was perfectly cast as this larger than life character.

These dragons are both very dangerous yet exhibit all the traits of cats as well which is an odd combination. This dragon broke my heart. Lost, alone and injured he is helped by a Viking boy. This dragon has a great character.

- The dragon theme may have been a bit overdone over the years, though I'm still into it. The old mythology trumps the new age ideas of them.
