How it works

Kids Playing FootballStudents start by drafting their team. One option involves having a salary cap. This forces the students to make decisions based on a limited amount of money. Students also have to decide a starting lineup.

Students then collect data from newspapers and/or the internet and calculate their weekly score based on an algebraic formula. Based on the level of the students, there are 111 different formulas you can use.

Finally, students are allowed to make trades based on certain rules.

I wish they had done this when I was in school....

I am always looking for ways to make math more relevant for my students.  Fantasy football looks like a very promising resource.
