Fantasy Baseball Sleepers 2007

We look at three deep fantasy baseball sleepers. If your in an auction league, you should be able to score each of these players for under $10. And if you play in a live draft league, the final two sleepers can be drafted late in your draft (15th+ round).

Fantasy Sleepers

Mark Teahen, Jeremy Sowers, Kevin Kouzmanoff

  • Mark Teahen

    This third baseman plays in the Kanasas City Royals organization and was one of the best players in the second half of 2006. Who, Mark Teahen? Well, if you don't believe me, check this out;

    Teahen was shut down early by the Royals, but he ranked near the top in the AL in the following catergories during the second half of the 2006 season:

    10th in AL OPS.

    4th in AL RBI.

    He'll either play at third or the outfield this season. Grab this guy for a cheap price or in a late round and expect numbers close to .300, 25 HR, 100 RBI.
  • Jeremy Sowers

    Another second half darling, this former first round draft pick (6th overall) spent only about one year in the minors before joining the Indians rotation on a full time basis. His AL second half ranks were;

    2nd in AL ERA (behind only Johan Santana)

    Tyed for league lead in full season shutouts with 2.

    Sowers is the real deal. He should give you 15 wins, a 3.50 ERA, and a 1.20 WHIP. The only thing lacking from his game is the strikeout. But he should be available late in your draft, so look for him after the 15th round.
  • Kevin Kouzmanoff

    Between AA & AAA last season Kevin complied a line of .379/.437/.656. In AAA alone he hit .353 (league avg .261) and had a line similar to that of Ryan Howard in 2005.

    He's penciled in to start at 3rd base for the Padres this season, and should hit around .300 with 80+ RBI. He should be available around the end of your draft. So if he's still on the board around round 20, pull the trigger and reap the rewards of his .300+ batting average.
