Simple Draft Tips

Do you want to roll into your draft with confidence? Wanna roll out of your draft knowing you have a good solid team? No problem, just read the rest of this lens and you'll have a pretty good idea of how to accomplish both.

A great way for you to master your draft and get a leg up on your competition is to keep an eye on things in the off season. By spending a few minutes, a couple times a week you will drastically improve your results on draft day and in your league standings.

Here are a few reasons why going the extra mile will pay off;

You know off the top of your head who moved where and why. There is no need to cram in the weeks or nights before draft day. Having this information in your head eliminates the need to be skimming a 2-3 month old magazine on draft day.

Also, you are able to make quick, confident decisions throughout the draft and have the ability to react flawlessly to the curve balls that are thrown at you throughout. No more scrambling to find a player after the one (or two) you had your eye on is taken right before your pick.

When the info is in your head, nine times out of ten you have two to three more players you can take because you've played out the scenario in your head, you know.

You get a feel for how players and coaches are fitting in with their new team. As mini camps and off season workouts progress you see how things are taking shape. Having a feel for who to pick is probably the most important thing to have when it comes drafting the right players. Not sure how to explain feel but the best way to describe it is just having a knowing…you just have a good or bad vibe coming out of a particular guy. The more info the better the feel.

Bottom line, if you start your research early, you will make confident decisions on draft day and have a greater feel for who's a bust, who's solid and who's a sleeper. Now get to work.
