About Anima
I'm Anima, an emerging Canadian artist born in Ghana, West Africa and living in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. I credit my love of color to my African roots. My style of mixing realism with romantic fantasy I have to credit to my years of voracious reading.
When it comes to art, I'm almost completely self taught. Drawing and painting regularly and reading and studying the techniques of other artists has helped me hone my skills. I believe my art is a journey and though I'm 10 years into using oil pastels for my particular style, I'm still only just beginning!
In 2003, I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering. Being a computer engineer satisfies my love of physics, math and my practical nature. But it's art that feeds my passion and creativity.

- Hey! My name is Anima as well, and I'm so proud to have my name linked to possibly the best artist of all time! I'm a HUGE fan of your artwork, which is truly inspiring. Your work reminds me of reality, especially "Her Unspoken Presence", and I can really relate to some of it, which is why I love it so much. You yourself are a beautiful woman, and I hope to one day be as successful as you are. Keep on painting!

- Flowers and women have always been linked. This could be due to the affinity that women have for flowers and also due to the fact that they serve as a wonderful way to cheer women up. They have also helped lovers unite.
