Goodbye And Farewell

Many of my colleagues and friends will be staying locally and we have pledged to meet up for lunch/ coffee and networking for new opportunities.

Some of my colleagues and frends will be moving to other parts of the UK and some abroad which will make it more difficult to meet up for a coffee!! However email always makes keeping in touch easier wherever people are nowadays and if they are close friends, trips can always be arranged !

For close friends and work colleagues I really like the Irish Blessings.

Being part Irish myself they have a special meaning to me and I think they are very appropriate for people I care about.

And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

A perfect goodbye or ending at work does not happen when mass redundancies/lay offs are taking place. It is hard to see people distraught and upset. It is hard to see people saying goodbye and leaving who do not want to leave and cannot afford to leave. However you just have to make the best out of the situation and help each other get through it. I think this quote sums it up very well.

"I wanted a perfect ending. Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next."
