How to Play Farkle
Farkle Rules provided by
b style=">Getting Started
You need: 6 dice, and a scorepad
Players: 3-8 is suggested
Starting: Sit anywhere. Roll 1 die, high roll goes first
Game Overview
Goal: have the highest score above 10,000 in the final round.
Players start by rolling 6 dice. As long as they score at last 1 point, they remove 1 or more scoring dice from play, and either "bank" their points or continue rolling.
If the dice rolled do not score any points, you have "Farkled" and you must pass the dice, losing all points gained that turn.
If the player manages to score with all 6 dice, they are "hot" and can roll all six-dice again, or they can bank the points and pass the dice.
At the end of each player's turn, they write down any points scored and pass the dice clockwise.
Scoring Farkle
Each 1 rolled = 100 pts
Each 5 rolled = 50 pts
Three 1's rolled = 1000 pts
Three 2's rolled = 200 pts
Three 3's rolled = 300 pts
Three 4's rolled = 400 pts
Three 5's rolled = 500 pts
Three 6's rolled = 600 pts
Straight (1-2-3-4-5-6) = 1000 pts
It is important to note you can combine different types of scoring.
(1-2-3-3-3-5) could be scored many ways. For example:
1) (1) could be kept for 100 points.
2) (1-5) could be kept for 150 points.
3) (3-3-3) Could be kept for 300 points.
4) (1-3-3-3) Could be kept for 400 points.
5) (1-3-3-3-5) Could be kept for 450 points.
In the case 1-4 above the player would usually throw the remaining dice (why leave points on the table?) In case 5, they could either bank their points and pass the dice, or throw the remaining die, with a 1 in 3 chance of scoring (getting a 1 or 5). If they did score with that die, they could bank their total score and pass, or throw all six dice again, and further increase their score, since they are "Hot".
Every roll is scored separately. Let's say you roll two 5's for 100 points. If you rolled a 5 on the next roll, you don't get 500 points for 3 fives, you would only add 50 more points for a total of 150 points.
Winning the Game
Players roll until one of them reaches 10,000 points. Once any player reaches 10,000 pts., the final round begins. Every other players gets 1 additional try to score as many points as they can. The player with the most points at the end is the winner.
