Farmville on Facebook is quickly becoming one of the more popular social games on Facebook. Players are developing new strategies and attempting new Farmville tricks and Farmville tips to help increase their level and expand their virtual farm on a daily basis. What is Farmville? 

What are these Farmville Tricks You Speak of?

farmville-tricksFarmville is a flash based game available on Facebook and designed by Zynga Social games. The game resembles other "Sims" type games with the object of this one being to, you guessed it, build a farm! Players plant crops, trees and tend to animals and in turn sell the crops and tree when fully grown and ready to be harvested and sell whatever the animals produce (for example: wool from sheep, milk from cows, eggs from chickens and many more). Players also earn "money" every time they level up and money can be used to purchase items that aren't available to purchase with coins. Players can also buy decorations (fences, hay bales, picnic tables, benches etc.), buildings (house, barns, tool sheds etc.), vehicles (tractor, harvester and seeder) and eventually you can purchase an upgrade to expand your farm.

Starting out on Farmville you can buy the following with coins: Strawberries, Eggplant, Wheat, Soybeans, Cherry Tree, Apple Tree, Orange Tree, Cow, Barn, Whitewash Fence and Hay Bales. You can buy other items with Farmville Cash. Overtime you will learn new Farmville tricks and find new Farmville tips to improve your game.

Limited Edition Farmville Winter and Christmas Items 

There are some new items available for gifting and purchase. I will leave this section here to list the inevitable winter items too. There are also several Winter and Christmas Items available right now to either be purchased or given as free gifts. These are available until the end of 2009. Items include Reindeer, Snowmen, Christmas Trees, elves, ornaments, sleighs and more.

Now that the presents from the holiday tree have been released I have to say that I was impressed.

Some of the most common questions I hear from people asking for Farmville tips involve how to earn Farmville Cash. This usually leads to two follow up questions: How does it differ from Farmville Coins? Is it even worth seeking out new ways to earn it?

Cash is one of the forms of currency players of the Farmville game on Facebook can earn to limited edition items, decorations, extra fuel for vehicles and alternate versions of items you can buy with coins (ex: a barn painted black instead of the traditional red). Coins are for necessities and the items you need to buy to generate revenue.

Here's how to earn Farmville Cash without cheating:

Increasing Your Level.

Every time you level up you get 1 note of cash. New users are lucky because us vets of the game started playing before this feature was implemented and we were not given the amount of cash to match our levels in Farmville.

Filling Out Offers.

Players can earn cash by filling out offers including surveys, signing up for book clubs and cell phone ring tones just to name a few. You are given the option of sorting the offers by free offers, pay offers and cell phone offers. Pay close attention to the cell phone offers because most of these are subscription based services.

Yes, you read that right. You can buy Farmville cash with real cash. The prices are low and some of the items are nice.

Considering I like Halloween so much I now have a nice graveyard set up on my farm so, for me, it was worth spending the time and money. Maybe you will feel the same about the items you see.

Here is a list of Farmville crops. I recommend that you use the majority of the space on your farm for crops if you wish to level up fast and earn a lot of coins in as little time as possible. As you'll see, the further along you move in the game the more the crops are worth. You should always stick with crops that give 2 or more experience points per crop harvested unless you're going for the crop mastery of a certain crop.

What are They and What do They Do?




There have been a lot of questions involving the falling coins that appear when harvesting crops on Farmville. Here's the answer straight from the horse's mouth:

Q: Coin Fountain: I see flying coins! What does that mean?

A: The coins are a random chance for players to win 100 coins while plowing, planting or harvesting. It happens completely randomly with any kind of crop. If you see the coin above your head, check your coin balance. You should have an additional 100 coins in there.

You do not need to click on the coin or grab it, the addition of the coins will be added automatically.

Not too bad. Sometimes I get as many as 5 of them while planting new crops.

Farmville Mystery Box 

Farmville Mystery Boxes | Brand New Items as as 10/19/09

The makers of Zynga have released the Farmville Mystery Boxes with the promise of offering items that are not available for purchase with either Farmville Cash or Farmville Coins. One can only assume this was added based on the popularity of the mystery crates in Mafia Wars. The boxes cost 15 Farmville cash and it appears that it is going to be a permanent fixture on Farmville. I bought one and received a red bicycle which differs a little bit from the Yellow Bicycle.

Farmville Expansion | Farmville Vehicles | Farmville Fuel 



At some point in the game you will be able to expand your farm to include more items, crops, decorations etc. This is especially useful for the various vehicles that Farmville offers. While not necessary they do make it a lot easier to harvest and plant crops and plow the field. You're going to run out of fuel right in the middle of a job most of the time so there is an option to spend your Farmville Cash on fuel. Personally, I think this is a waste of money but if you're someone who is always busy but likes to play then it may just be for you. Here's the Farmville Expansion list, Farmville Vehicles list and the different amounts of Farmville Fuel you can purchase.

Expansions - For the expansions you need to have a certain number of neighbors or you can just pay 20 Farmville Cash to expand your farm right off the bat.

Homestead - 14x14 - This is the first expansion you can buy.

Farmville.com was recently launched and I assume this was due to the fact that there can be significant lag and more errors on the Facebook site. As a gimmick to try and get people to move over to Farmville.com and play there (how that will actually help with the lag is beyond me) there are exclusive free gifts offered. Here is a list of what is currently offered:

Wooden Log
Orange Flag
Purple Flag
White Flag
Log Bench
Ladder and Bucket
Barrel of Grapes

I can only assume that more Farmville free gifts will be available exclusively on Farmville.com.

NEW FARMVILLE TRICKS and CHEATS - Harvest and Plow EVERYTHING Without Moving 



This is so simple that I can't believe I didn't think about it sooner and apparently I'm not the only one who didn't know this. Take a look at the picture above. Notice how the farmer is trapped and cannot move? Well, just because he can't move doesn't mean he can't harvest the crops. All you have to do is click on the crops, trees or animals that are ready to be harvested or collected from and it will be done. This really cuts down on the time it takes to harvest and plant crops! It also cuts down on the lag and jumpiness of the game if you have any older computer that struggles to run Farmville properly.

How do you set this up? It's very simple.

1.) Log onto Farmville.
2.) Delete or move whatever your farmer is standing on,
3.) Go to the market and pick out some hay bales or fences and set them up around your farmer.
4.) Harvest the crops!

I assume you only need to surround the farmer with one layer of decorations. I did it a few times to play it safe.

    I am sorry to say that you have quite a few corrections to make on your Crop Mastery table. Sugar cane, patty pan squash, acorn squash, pineapple, bell pepper & cotton all have incorrect amounts for one or more of their masteries. I found a couple other tables, combined with my experience and found these errors. I would be happy to provide you with the correct numbers.
