Farnborough International Airshow has been going for years. Run bi-annually it is an industry show and trade fair rather than a public air display and takes place over several days. However for one day of the show, usually the Saturday, it is open to the public and draws crowds from around the world.

Farnborough 2008 was a great show. Disappointingly, many of the trade stands had closed up for the public show, making it difficult to speak to the people behind the planes. Many of the planes were on ground display for walking round, but the event that everyone was waiting for however was the airshow in the afternoon, with a range of helicopters and aircraft.

It was the first major show that Avro Vulcan XH558 had attended since her restoration, and it was quite amusing to watch heads turn everytime she was moved or towed on the runway. The Airbus A380, the largest airliner in the world was also on display. The Red Arrows were present and a range of other aircraft were in the line up.
