Farrah Fawcett was one of three actresses hand-picked by producer Aaron Spelling to portray sexy, undercover detectives on the 1976 cult hit Charlie's Angels. At the time, the big three networks comprised the major media, and she became a household name within weeks of appearing on the show. Farrah's José Eber-designed hairstyle became de rigueur among adolescent girls, and her world-famous, red swimsuit poster graced the walls of teen boys and college dorms throughout the country. Designed and styled by the actress herself, the poster remains the best-selling of all time, surpassing even those of Betty Grable and the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders.
