For fall and winter the waist has returned! Whether on a belted swing coat, a curvy dress or pencil skirt, the emphasis is on the waist. The fitted shift style dress provides a much-needed antidote to all the trapeze shapes of this past summer. The seriously girlie frock could be on it's way out? The dress for fall is sexier and edgier -- but not skin tight -- so dresses will remain comfortable.

Fashion Mistakes - biggest fashion oops... Plus some good solutions

Let's face it , even the most stylish of us make some oh so big fashion mistakes. It's never to late to turn your fashion flops into fashion forward outfits. Listed just below are some good solutions to the year's wardrobe catastrophes ...

Oversized tunic top
To the smallest figure to plus-sized ladies, the oversized tunic top trend left a lot to the imagination... "Is she pregnant or just smuggling who knows what underneath all of that extra fabric?"

Need a Fix? Try an empire waist top, this style goes to accentuate your assets,plus are so comfortable. Another great solution - cinch in your tunics with a great belt . You will be pleasantly surprised, you will look shapely and still cover parts that you prefer to keep covered.

Huge Leg Pants
There are a few blessed women who can pull this trend off with successes. The rest of us just tend to look shorter, heavier, and shapeless, in huge legged pants.

Want a fast fix: Love wide leg pants? You can still pull off the look of a wide-leg pant, try a better-fitting pair of pants that has a boot cut. Boot cut are a bit wider at the bottom, but tend to give a slimming look to most figures.

Leggings
Leggings are fun to wear, and are shown with lots of different types of tops, but their tight design leaves little to the imagination... Leggings can actually exaggerate cellulite ripples, and other flaws. They frequently make ones behind appear wider than wide.

Want a fast fix? Leggings are lovely with shirts that are long enough to hide potential problem areas, tunics or long cardigans are a good choice to sport with a legging, both of which cover the backside.

Plunging necklines
The plunging necklines have been popular this year. Sometimes this neckline can be cut too low. An accidental slip is all you need to find yourself in trouble of over exposure....

Need a fast fix? Don't throw out your tantalizing sexy tops just add a perfectly-matching camisole to the mix, and your good to go. Its fun to be sexy, but keep it real... without revealing too much skin.

Big Scarves
Seriously, scarves that are twice the size of your body just won't do, NOT cute - not cute at all.

Try this instead: Want your neckline noticed? Add a wonderful piece of jewelry instead of a scruffy wrinkled scarf. The big scarf fad is so on its way out....

Long, flowing maxi dresses
So many women think the long, flowing maxi dresses is a perfect solution to the too short and revealing mini dress. Unfortunately, in reality the shape and length of most maxi dresses aren't flattering and tend to hide more positives than they conceal ones negatives.

Fast fix: Opt for an in-between length with a dress that stops somewhere between your knee and your calf. I think you will be pleased with how this length will flatter your shape. The empire waist dress is also a good choice.

Sequins wardrobe
Disco is dead! The sequins in your wardrobe must be tossed , it's time to do away with your disco-wear.

Love sparkle, actually need it? A few embellishments here and there are always acceptable, but try to stick to more subdued looks, colors, and fabrics with just a bit of sparkle. A wonderful cardigan set with some small seed pearls, or a fabric with a bit of sparkle added can add a whisper to your look, the shout statement is just dead..

Fuzzy boots
The fuzzy boots that have been flaunted by fashionistas young, and old this season. Hey! this is so last years fashion... Let's face it as the fuzzy boots rarely and actually never did match outfits. Their heaviness sometimes makes the wearer clomp and stomp in an extremely unattractive manner. Uggs are ugly!

Fast Fix: Ditch the Uggs for some attractive and stylish booties, or more versatile calf fitting riding boots.

Hats
"Ooh la la!" those who dared to wear the beret this year probably will hear the faint snickers and giggles as they pass by.... A true Frenchman may carry off this look well. Oh and the very young - they can get away with murder.

Want an alternative : You can't go wrong with the beanie hat. Is fashion your main reason for wearing a hat, consider a beanie with a bill , they make a great statement, and look good on most shaped heads.

Comfortable Jean ! Oh Yes...

Jeans, Jeans and more Jeans... It appears that most popular designers are betting that woman want a jean with a bit higher waist, and closer fit at the leg. Such as the straight leg, boot cut, and the skinny jean. Madonna has started the new higher waist jean in England, and this trend is quickly making its way across the pond... It might be nice to not have to worry about the dreaded muffin top?

You will be lost without one this season! Whether it's a patchwork of different materials, a unique shape, or an interesting gleam on the surface, you don't want your coat to be basic. New details include cocoon backs, hoods, very wide arms, a belted waist, big collar, and rounded shoulders. Don't be caught this winter without a great statement coat!

Tally Ho! The flat riding boots are so big this season,,,

Hurray for flats! I have to say, as a girl who spends most days rushing around , I am really appreciating the recent trends of heel-less shoes. After spending all summer in feet-friendly ballet flats, I am very much looking forward to getting myself a pair of what will be one of this fall's hottest looks: the low-heel riding boot. These boots are a sight for sore eyes. Not that I don't love my high heels boots, but as much as pointy, spike stiletto pumps scream style - and will continue to be very much in style this fall, the forgivingly round-toed boots scream something even better - comfort ! They don't look half bad either. This particular shoe fashion looks great with a short little dress or over some tucked in skinny jeans.
