These pages contain relatively a large amount of of text and photos so they are the "best content" pages so to speak.


Not directly related to photography that are important part of building an effective website are CMS (content management systems) and web design,
I am starting two new categories concerning subjects which have been important for me in these areas: Photoshop Tutorials and Firefox Extensions.


This photography lens is meant to be an informative hub for visual artists
and fans of the visual arts.

My very first model photoshoot took place at the Kapiolani Park in Waikiki, Hawaii.
This German girl had beautiful features and a truly exotic look because of her dreadlocks.

While living in Hawaii I've had several photoshoots with Asian models but it was a rare opportunity to photograph a beautiful Mongolian model in Budapest, Hungary during my trip back home after 20 years of living in the USA.
We got to use an apartment for a few hours courtesy of a friend of the model and even though it was an ordinary apartment we got creative and took some nice photos.
There weer several lucky break during this photoshoot as it often happens which made the experience even more fun and the photos even better.

Even if a rainforest bikini photoshoot gets canceled due to rain there is always a chance to do some creative thinking and come home at least with one good photo.
The face of this stunning Asian model was beautifully framed be the hoodie of her rain jacket while we were waiting for the storm to pass.

This photo was taken in the Pali rain forest on Oahu Island in Hawaii.
It's became one of my most popular photo but that means it also has been hotlinked, downloaded and stolen more than any other picture from my blog.

This edgy black and white bikini model photo was taken of not a model but a friend which happens a lot when starting out in model photography.
There are photographers who prefer to continue photographing non-models and I am in complete agreement with them! "Regular girls" are often the most natural in front of the camera.
Of course selecting girls with stunning or exotic looks is only the beginning, there must be chemistry between model and photographer as well!

Back in the early days I used to photograph every day girls (truly girls next door) because I did not have a portfolio to approach models for test shoots.
This does not mean I was not picky, I still needed to be inspired by the model.

One of my favorite concepts is to black and white photography with an exotic Asian model on a dramatic, tropical location. Fortunately while living in Hawaii I had a few excellent opportunities.
Jen is a beautiful Japanese fashion, lingerie and bikini model with a good sense of humor, intelligence and an adventurous spirit. She is also a surfer so is in great shape!

One of my first lingerie model photoshoots took place in the ultra luxurious Kahala Hotel Hawaii which is not far from Waikiki where I used to live.
The beautiful black model was from Panama and had some experience which was comforting because this definitely was a learning on the job experience for me.
We ended up with some nice photos, some of them were even published when the model was interviewed for a magazine.
