Bad credit repair is vital to your future. Unfortunately too many people are often embarrassed to ask for help and try to take matters into their own hands often making their situation worse. It's important to learn all that you can about what it takes to repair your credit, and if need be consult a professional.
As a credit report specialist, I find that there are certain questions that keep popping up over and over. People are confused about certain details when it comes to credit repair. It's important to know the facts so that you can begin to repair your credit. These are some fast credit repair questions that I frequently face in my line of work:
When a disputed item is removed from my credit, can it reappear?
Rarely. A disputed item may be temporarily removed by the credit bureau if they haven't heard from the creditor in a 30 day time period. If it is reported later by a creditor it very well could be reinserted. This is something that rarely happens and if it does there are certain guidelines that credit bureaus must follow before reporting anything back on to your credit report. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, (FCRA), credit bureaus must notify you if they plan to report a disputed item back on to your credit report. Because of the strict new guidelines, credit bureaus are less likely to take this course of action.
Can a foreclosure or bankruptcy ever be removed from my credit?
Anything can be removed from your credit. A credit report is not something that is carved out of stone at any point. There are countless changes that can occur daily. So, yes, it may be difficult to remove a foreclosure or a bankruptcy, but by working with a professional it can be taken care of. Daily, bankruptcies, foreclosures, repossessions, tax liens get removed from credit reports. Check your credit often and dispute anything that is incorrect.
It is important to know the facts when faced with bad credit. There are many outlets and information available to help you repair your credit. Remember that nothing is permanent. Even if it seems bad there are always options to help you repair your credit. No matter how bad it may seem, it is never too late to begin to fix your credit. It can only benefit you in the future.
