Fast Gold Farming in WoW

Look, I've been there. I was once a penniless character roaming around Azeroth myself, and I've been playing since before Dire Maul was even released. Back then, everyone's first mounts were 100g a pop, and we only got those at level 40.

I remember scrimping and saving starting at 30. I even skipped some spells along the way, spells that I didn't think I'd use that often, because I was so desperate to reach the 100g mark. I've lost count of the number of instance runs I made just for the loot. I even crawled my way through Wailing Caverns for any green drops that I can get, for god's sake.

A couple of times I'd see someone go by in an epic mount and I'd go, 'Man, I hope I can get one of those someday.' But I didn't think that I would get that far. Heck, I'm already struggling to get 100g already. How am I supposed to get 1000G?

Eventually, I did get my first mount, at level 43. That was how bad it got. After I bought the mount, I hovered my mouse pointer on the epic mount icon and sighed. I'm now left with a few silvers, and I've got 999g to go.

I then started to think seriously about getting the gold, and quickly. Nowadays, it's called 'gold farming', but at that point in time it was 'Get Enough Gold - Fast' for me.

I started researching all the secrets of fast gold farming in the shortest time possible. I visited websites, blogs, forums... I devoured everything that was in my sights, basically.

Yes. Even after all the reading, all the theorizing, all the experimenting, I still couldn't get it. The top earners weren't spilling their secrets. My plans weren't working, and my stuff at the Auction House just wasn't selling, even though I was in possession of really great stuff (Orb of Deception, anyone?).

Yes, I did earn, and I eventually did get my epic Kodo after months and months of saving up. But here's the thing - I had to save up. I wasn't earning lots of gold. I wasn't gold farming correctly.

This lasted all the way to WotLK. Burning Crusade had great daily quests that I did each and everyday to get my gold fast, but it just didn't seem fast enough. And it was really time-consuming. I didn't like spending hours and hours just trawling through the same old content.

I was about ready to give up looking for the 'secret formula'. I was doing pvp and having a blast, and while I had alright gear to tide me through the fights and maybe win once in a while, I had fun. And It was a lot better than trying, and failing to make it.

Until one day, when I was doing my usual bored google searches for WoW stuff. That's when I found the answer, and had my big break. Since then, I've been pulling in loads of gold and I'm finally able to get all the things I wanted.

I just needed a bit of help, and I got it. I'm so pleased with it that I really, really recommend it to others that were like me before; poor and sad, and wondering how on earth gold farming is really done. This, my friends, is truly the answer.
