Father Christmas Story
The early Father Christmas didn't wear red clothes
Father Christmas story tells us that the character known today as Santa Claus was a jolly old man with white hair, beard and mustache. Father Christmas also wore a red suit adorned with white linings.
Though, this representation of the early Santa Claus seems to a modern one as, in the early 1880s, Father Christmas used to wear a green suit. The red colored clothes became popular during the 1930s when Coca Cola introduced their version of Father Christmas, the gift bearer.
Father Christmas story lets us know that the old man has elves as helpers. Elves and helpers are believed to produce toys that Father Christmas is going to give to wise children on Christmas time. Santa Claus' house is located in the North Pole and is, in reality, his toy factory.

The True Father Christmas Story
Where does Santa Claus come from?
The true story about Father Christmas tells us that our famous Santa Claus originated in England. Father Christmas was a character that was entire part of the midwinter festival.
As said earlier, the original Father Christmas was dressed up in a green suit and green coat: the green colored clothes represented the sign of the returning spring.
During the early times, Father Christmas wasn't the gift bearer we're accustomed to see on Christmas time, nor did Father Christmas climb down the chimney to leave Christmas gifts in every house he used to visit.
Instead, the story says that Father Christmas used to go out in the streets, knocking on the doors of every house and feasting with families for a few minutes before leaving and going to another home.

Sending a Letter to Father Christmas
Santa Claus' mail office

Father Christmas story tells us that, in the past, children used to write a letter including their gift wish list to Father Christmas. Kids threw the letters at the back of the fireplace. The draught was then believed to carry the letters and bring them to Father Christmas up the chimney.
Modern times changed the rules and, nowadays, children write down their gift wish list and send it to Santa by post or e-mail. It is the new way to let Father Christmas know what they want to find beneath the Christmas tree on 25 December.
Father Christmas' Very Busy Night
The night Santa Claus rides his reindeers
The true story of Father Christmas tells us that, on Christmas Eve, Father Christmas and his helpers would pile up all the gifts for the wise kids and place them in a large red bag. Then they'd place the bag on a sled hitched by reindeers.
On Christmas night, Father Christmas rides his sleigh across the sky. Father Christmas would then go down to the chimneys of the houses and fill the stockings of wise children with toys and treats.
Father Christmas story says that Rudolph is Santa's sleigh's lead reindeer. Rudolph is known for leading the way using his red nose. In fact, Rudolph the red nosed reindeer is Santa Claus' most famous reindeer because of his particular nose.
