Langley Snail is worried about Father's Day. He is not crafty, so his homemade presents always bomb. He has some money to spend, but his snail's pace gets him to the store after it closes. Besides, his friends have already snapped up the neat gifts, like the "Super-Duper-Golf-O-Matic-Home-Ball-Washer." Tomorrow is Sunday, and Langley's got nothin'. But as he walks dejectedly home, he finds a perfectly round, lilac-colored stone. Then he spies three baby birds in their nest. A lightbulb goes off: Langley leaves a note for his father requesting his presence on a nature walk. Together, the two explore the woods, and Mr. Snail says their walk is the best present ever--and Langley agrees.
