SuperDad Designs from Eav's Creations! - A Father's Day Presentation

I called up my mother one morning, greeting her a Happy Mother's day... makes me realized that Father's Day is nearly approaching, then the reality of losing my father suddenly hit me in a way it had not before. I've been crying a lot since Mother's Day.

It's sad...I have never had the chance to celebrate this very memorable day with my father. But I have a lot of sweet memories with him, when I was a kid I enjoy fishing with father, we would go to the shore before dawn and be back home before lunch, he would carry me on he's shoulder going back to our house because I'm too lazy and too tired to walk from the beach back to our house. Then, I need to go to the city after high school to continue my study. Way back then when I was young, Father's Day celebration for us was just an ordinary day. Living in a small barrio, isolated and 20 kilometers away from civilization, without electricity, father's day is no big deal. We do not celebrate any special day to honor our parents, except for Christmas and New Year. Life there in my hometown was hard and gift giving was/is a luxury. We need to keep the money for something very important, like food and medicine. My Father was a fisherman, and he loves the sea. He was a farmer too, taking care of our small coconut plantation. He didn't finish grade school and have never experienced working for other people. He was stuck in their coconut plantation, tending the coconut trees since grade school. Farming and Fishing was the only way he knows to provide for us. If coconut didn't produce enough fruits during the harvest season, we don't have enough food in our dining table. If he didn't catch fish, we will eat veggies in our every meal all day long. My father didn't know any work other than farming and fishing, so he want's his kids to finish school to have better and comfortable life. I know or I can say, that tatay (father) was not a good provider (my mother always complain about it) like many other fathers out there who'll work hard to feed their kids,but my father filled us with good words and his advices guided us to live a good christian life. He taught us how to respect one another. My father may never be rich but having a good heart and wealthy words of wisdom, I couldn't ask for more? And if given the chance to turn back time and choose a father, I'll definitely choose my tatay again and again. Because my tatay is my SUPERDAD!!!

I so miss my father, I don't know...but I still feel guilty that I have never had the chance to be with him during his last days. I never got the chance to ask for forgiveness for all my shortcomings. I have never had the chance to date him on Father's Day. Never had the chance to tell him I love him -- (I feel corny saying those words with tatay, I'm not used to it). Now, I regret not telling him how much he means to me and it hurt me so much!!! I often cry, just thinking about him! I really, really miss my father. And he isn't coming back!
